Stats Trees
The Attack and Health trees are part of the Stats tab. Each node in these trees can be upgraded four times, with each upgrade improving the related stat. These upgrades are unlocked purely with money (yen). The cost for each upgrade increases progressively:
- Node 1: 6,000 yen
- Node 2: 30,000 yen
- Node 3: 100,000 yen
- Node 4: 200,000 yen
- Node 5: 500,000 yen
Special Abilities
This tree is similar to the standard Yakuza upgrade system, where unlocking higher nodes grants access to lower ones. The first five nodes can be unlocked with money during Chapter 1. All subsequent nodes require unlocking via the Training List (using training points). The skills are unlocked in the following order:
- Haymaker: Requires 1,000 yen. Hold down [button], then press [button]. Each [button] input can be held.
- Double Kick: Requires 1,500 yen and Haymaker.
- Pick-Me-Up: Requires 1,500 yen and Haymaker. Use near a downed enemy.
- Essence of Raging Dragon: Requires 1,500 yen and either Double Kick or Pick-Me-Up. Hold down [button], then press [button].
- Blindspot Shot (Passive): Requires 2,000 yen and Essence of Raging Dragon. Attacking enemies from behind causes critical hits.
- Essence of Charging Tinbe: Requires Ryukyu Style, 200 Training Points, and Blindspot Shot. Use near a downed enemy.
- Spinning Blows: Requires Essence of Charging Tinbe and 200 Training Points. Hold [button] and then press [button].
- Punting Kick Finisher: Requires Essence of Charging Tinbe and 200 Training Points. Use near a downed enemy.
- Dragon Rush Combo: Requires either Spinning Blows or Punting Kick Finisher, and 300 Training Points.
- Ryukyu Rush Combo: Requires either Spinning Blows or Punting Kick Finisher, and 300 Training Points.
- Taunt: Requires Dragon Rush Combo and 350 Training Points. While guarding, press [L3 button] to taunt enemies, enraging them.
- Cuisine Connoisseur: Requires Ryukyu Rush Combo and 350 Training Points. Recover more HP when eating at a restaurant or using an item.
- Improved Quickstep: Requires either Taunt or Cuisine Connoisseur, and 400 Training Points. Press [button] twice.
- Giant Swing: Requires either Taunt or Cuisine Connoisseur, and 400 Training Points. Hold [button].
- Dragon Boost Duration: Requires either Improved Quickstep or Giant Swing, and 400 Training Points. Dragon boost lasts longer.
- Giant Swing: Kiwami (Note: Name may be incorrect): Requires Dragon Boost Duration and 400 Training Points. Grab an enemy with [button] and press [button].
- Essence of Evasive Counter: Requires Giant Swing: Kiwami and 450 Training Points. Perform a quickstep attack then press [button].
- Essence of Ranged Counterattack: Requires Giant Swing: Kiwami and 450 Training Points. Perform a guard attack after a perfect guard, then press [button].
- Haymaker: Kiwami: Requires either Essence of Ranged Counterattack or Haymaker: Kiwami, and 500 Training Points. Hold [button] then press [button].
- Essence of Nunchaku Hold: Requires either Essence of Ranged Counterattack or Haymaker: Kiwami, and 500 Training Points. Hold [button] then press [button].
- Violence in Vogue: Requires Essence of Nunchaku Hold and 550 Training Points. Transition from a guard attack into a Rush Combo.
- Essence of Nunchaku: Requires Essence of Nunchaku Hold and 550 Training Points. Nunchaku combo lasts longer.
- Evade: Attack Up: Requires either Violence in Vogue or Essence of Nunchaku, and 600 Training Points. Increase attack power upon perfect quicksteps.
- Defend: Attack Up: Requires either Violence in Vogue or Essence of Nunchaku, and 600 Training Points. Increase attack power upon perfect guards.
- Essence of Facebuster: Requires either Evade: Attack Up or Defend: Attack Up, and 650 Training Points. Attack an enemy you are grabbing with [button], then press [button].
- Essence of Tonfa: Requires either Evade: Attack Up or Defend: Attack Up, and 650 Training Points. After [button], hold [button]. Sends enemy flying back.
- Giant Swing: Kiwami: Requires either Essence of Facebuster or Essence of Tonfa, and 650 Training Points. Giant Swing will now let you hit other enemies with the thrown enemy.
- Cuisine Connoisseur: X: Requires either Essence of Facebuster or Essence of Tonfa, and 650 Training Points. Recover more HP when eating at a restaurant or using an item.
- Essence of Return Fire: Requires either Essence of Facebuster or Essence of Tonfa, and 650 Training Points. When facing an enemy with a gun, guard and press [button].
- Bullet Proof Guard: Requires Giant Swing: Kiwami, Cuisine Connoisseur: X, or Essence of Return Fire, and 700 Training Points. Performing a perfect guard as a bullet hits you deflects it back at an enemy.
- Essence of Tekko: Requires Bullet Proof Guard and 750 Training Points. Press [button] then hold [button]. Sends enemy flying back.
- Additional Heat Gauge: Requires Bullet Proof Guard and 750 Training Points. Adds a second Heat Gauge.
- Spinning Blows: Kiwami: Requires Essence of Tekko and 750 Training Points. Increases the range of Spinning Blows.
- Essence of Dodge Roll: Requires Additional Heat Gauge and 750 Training Points. Dodge roll mid combo.
- Grab Counter: Requires either Spinning Blows: Kiwami or Essence of Dodge Roll, and 800 Training Points. Auto counter some enemy grabs.
- Fortify Found Weapon: Requires Spinning Blows: Kiwami and 800 Training Points. Increases the durability of found weapons.
