This level is a masterclass in platforming, featuring treacherous rotating platforms, fire-breathing foes, and cunningly hidden collectibles. Your primary objective here, beyond gathering every last treasure, is to ensure you enter the boss arena with a full complement of eggs. Kamek is a formidable opponent, and a well-stocked egg arsenal will be your best friend.

Walkthrough and Collectible Locations

As you embark on your journey through the castle, keep a keen eye out for the following:

Section 1: The Rotating Platform Gauntlet

• Initial Area: Immediately upon starting, head right. You'll encounter your first set of rotating platforms.
• Red Coin 1 & 2: Jump onto the first large rotating platform. Two Red Coins are floating directly above it. Time your jumps carefully to grab them.
• Smiley Flower 1 (Hidden Block): After the first series of rotating platforms, you'll land on a solid platform. Look for a hidden cloud block just above and to the right of this platform. Jump and flutter to reveal it and collect the Smiley Flower.
• Red Coin 3 & 4: As you progress, you'll encounter fire-breathing Shy Guys. Defeat them with eggs. Two Red Coins are located just past these enemies, floating between two smaller rotating platforms.
• Poochy Pup 1: After navigating the first few rotating platforms and defeating a couple of Shy Guys, you'll come to a section with a large, slow-moving rotating platform. Look closely at the background – there's a small, seemingly decorative cardboard tower. Hit it with an egg to reveal the first Poochy Pup.

Section 2: The Fire-Breathing Corridor

• Red Coin 5, 6 & 7: This corridor is lined with fire-breathing Shy Guys. Use your eggs to dispatch them quickly. Three Red Coins are positioned strategically above the path, requiring precise jumps or well-aimed egg throws to collect.
• Smiley Flower 2 (Environmental Puzzle): Mid-way through this corridor, you'll spot a series of three unlit lanterns. To activate them, you'll need to hit each one with an egg. The lanterns are spread out, so you'll need to be quick and accurate. Once all three are lit, a Smiley Flower will appear above the central lantern.
• Red Coin 8 & 9: Just after the lantern puzzle, you'll encounter a vertical shaft with moving platforms. Two Red Coins are floating near the top of this shaft.

Section 3: The Ascent and Crumbling Paths

• Red Coin 10, 11 & 12: As you ascend, you'll find crumbling platforms. Move quickly! Three Red Coins are placed along this vertical climb, often requiring you to jump and immediately grab them before the platform disappears.
• Smiley Flower 3 (Behind Waterfall): Near the top of the crumbling path section, you'll see a small waterfall in the background. Throw an egg behind the waterfall to reveal a hidden cloud block containing a Smiley Flower.
• Poochy Pup 2: After the crumbling platforms, you'll reach a solid ledge. Look to the left, slightly off-screen, there's a small gap. Drop down carefully to find a hidden alcove with the second Poochy Pup. You'll need to flutter jump back up.
• Red Coin 13 & 14: On the next set of rotating platforms, two Red Coins are positioned on the outer edges. Be careful not to fall!

Section 4: The Final Gauntlet and Pre-Boss Prep

• Smiley Flower 4 (Timed Challenge): You'll encounter a section with several moving platforms and a timer switch. Hit the switch with an egg, then quickly navigate the platforms to reach the Smiley Flower before the timer runs out. This often requires a combination of running, jumping, and flutter-jumping.
• Red Coin 15, 16 & 17: These three Red Coins are found in a sequence of fast-moving conveyor belt platforms, often guarded by spike traps or more fire-breathing Shy Guys.
• Smiley Flower 5 (Background Object): In a large open area just before the final door, look for a large, decorative cardboard gear in the background. Hit it with an egg to reveal a hidden cloud block containing the fifth Smiley Flower.
• Poochy Pup 3: This is often the trickiest. Just before the large door leading to the boss, look for a small, seemingly inaccessible ledge high above. You'll need to perform a precise flutter jump from a nearby platform, or sometimes there's a hidden spring block (hit a specific background object or a hidden cloud block) that launches you up to the final Poochy Pup.
• Red Coin 18, 19 & 20: The last three Red Coins are usually found clustered together in the immediate vicinity of the boss door, often above a series of small platforms or just before the final egg block.
• Smiley Flower 6 (Final Egg Block): Before entering the boss door, you'll invariably find a large, visible egg block. Hit it to collect the final Smiley Flower and replenish your egg count to maximum. Do not proceed without hitting this block!

Pre-Boss Checklist: Kamek

Before you step through that imposing door, take a moment to ensure you're fully prepared for the battle against Kamek. This is not a drill!

What to Expect:

• Boss Name: Kamek
• Attack Patterns: Kamek will fly around on his broomstick, casting various spells. These include:
  • Magic Blasts: Standard projectiles that can be dodged or blocked with eggs.
  • Object Transformation: Kamek will often transform parts of the environment or even smaller enemies into larger, more dangerous obstacles.
  • Summoning Minions: Expect him to summon Shy Guys or other small enemies to distract you.
