How to Beat Skullshatterer (Chapter 2 & 3)

Detailed Arknights boss guide for Skullshatterer, covering phases, mechanics, and strategies for Chapter 2 and 3.

Skullshatterer is one of the earliest major bosses you'll encounter, appearing in Chapter 2 (2-10) and Chapter 3 (3-8). He is a powerful melee unit with high HP and ATK, often accompanied by waves of regular enemies. His primary threat comes from his raw damage output and ability to quickly overwhelm your frontline.

Phases & Mechanics:

  • Phase 1: Skullshatterer moves along a predetermined path, attacking any operator he blocks. He has high physical defense and HP.
  • Phase 2 (Chapter 3): In 3-8, Skullshatterer gains a ranged attack that targets operators from a distance, making him a threat even when blocked. He also has increased stats.

Strategy:

  1. Strong Blocker: Deploy your strongest Defender (e.g., Cuora, Hoshiguma) or a high-DEF Guard to block him. Ensure they are Elite 1 or Elite 2 with leveled defensive skills.
  2. Medic Support: Place at least one Single-Target Medic (e.g., Hibiscus, Shining) with good healing output to constantly heal your blocker. An AoE Medic can also help with collateral damage.
  3. Damage Dealers: Focus your highest single-target damage operators (Snipers, Guards like Melantha/Frankia, Casters like Amiya/Eyjafjalla) on Skullshatterer. Amiya's S2 is excellent for burst Arts damage.
  4. Crowd Control/Stall: If he's breaking through, consider using slow Supporters (e.g., Orchid, Angelina) or Fast-Redeploy Specialists (e.g., Gravel) to stall him temporarily and buy time for skills to recharge or for other operators to deal damage.
  5. Manage Mobs: Don't forget the accompanying enemy waves. AoE Snipers or Casters can help clear these, preventing your frontline from being overwhelmed.
