Home base

At the home base, you can talk to all available companions and service-providing allies.

By talking to companions, you can have them join you in battle within dungeons and perform communal gifts (special buffs).

Companions can be chosen from any Mistle (a type of checkpoint (an auto-save point you restart from on death)).

Engage with companions between dungeons for story details.

Throughout the story, find Valuables like Books, alcohol, food, and tea, as well as Old world materials (gears).

Give Valuables to individuals at the base to earn trading points (1-5 points per item, 5 for loved items, 0-1 for disliked items).

Use trading points to acquire items from characters; for example, a companion's weapon costs 50 trading points.

Valuables can be found in various areas or purchased from Shang in Ruined City Underground Outer crossroads for 1 Old world material each.

Trading points can be used to buy consumables, weapon upgrading/transformation materials, and other items with limited stock.

Trading can unlock weapons of allies and specific consumables no longer in the item shop.

Trading also yields Presents, which can be sold for 4000 Haze (a form of currency) each, arriving about an hour in-game (up to 5 at a time).

Davis, located near the stairs by a bike, allows access to Depths dungeons when you bring him Depths maps. He can also be traded with.

Coco manages the item shop, offering limited-stock consumables, some of which restock later in the game. She can also be traded with.

Murasame owns the equipment and weapon shop, where you can buy and upgrade/transform weapons and blood veils.

The equipment shop sells new weapons and blood veils, though most gear is found in dungeons as enemy drops or in chests.

Some weapons are added to the shop after being found, but not all.

Blood veils are primarily found in chests and some unlock for purchase after being discovered. Altered colors of blood veils can also be bought.

All DLC (downloadable content — extra missions or items released after launch) can be purchased from Murasame for 10 Haze.

To upgrade equipment, use materials and Haze at Murasame's shop. Upgrading weapons increases Base and Scaling damage, while blood veils increase Drain attack damage.

Upgrades are denoted by a '+' followed by the number of upgrades (e.g., +10 is the highest currently).

Materials for upgrading include Queen Iron (0 to +3), Queen Steel (+4 to +6), Queen Titanium (+7 to +9), and Queen Tungsten (+10), found from enemies in dungeons.

Transforming equipment alters its properties for 10000 Haze and special materials called Chromes.

Chromes are obtained by trading with specific characters or as drops from enemies in certain successor's dungeons.

Transformation effects are visible in the menu and add a name to the item.

Prometheus Chrome, obtained by trading with Louis, lowers weight, potentially reducing physical damage, defense, balance, and stamina.

Atlas Chrome, obtained by trading with Yakumo, increases weight.
