Learn how to start New Game+ in Code Vein, what carries over, what resets, and the changes you'll encounter in subsequent playthroughs. Get ready for a tougher challenge!

So, you've beaten the final boss and seen the credits roll in Code Vein. Awesome! Now you're probably wondering how to jump back in for another go, right? Don't worry, it's super simple. After you've finished the game, just load your save file. You'll find yourself right before that final boss battle, ready to make a different choice or just tackle it again. If you want to kick off New Game+ proper, head to the Mistle in your base and go through the door there. That's your gateway to a fresh, yet familiar, journey!

When you start New Game+ (NG+), you get to keep a whole lot of your hard-earned progress. That means all your character levels, the Gifts you've learned, your items, all your equipment, and even your Blood Codes carry over. It's like bringing your whole toolkit into the next round! Plus, your trade points with your allies remain, so you can still call on any companion you've bonded with, no matter what happened in the story. And good news for explorers: all the areas you've mapped out will stay that way, and any Corrupted Mistles you purified will remain so. Just remember, the regular Resting Mistles will be deactivated again.

However, not everything makes the cut for NG+. You'll need to re-collect all your Key Items and re-find all the Vestiges. Don't stress too much though, you'll keep any Gifts you've already earned from those Vestiges. Also, expect to interact with the environment again: doors, ladders, and other gimmicks within dungeons will reset. Those handy Chemical Lights and markers you placed? They'll be gone. And finally, your progress in Quests and Depths will reset. You'll need to find those Depth maps and boss room keys all over again.

Changes in NG+

One of the biggest changes in NG+ is the ability to ramp up the difficulty. You can choose to increase the challenge at any point during your playthrough. Doing so makes enemies drop more Haze, and importantly, items and chests will respawn. This means more loot and more experience on your subsequent runs! Keep in mind, you can continue to increase the difficulty with each new playthrough, so the challenge can keep scaling up as you get better.
