Follow this guide to navigate the Investigations Sector and Oceanview Motel in Control Ultimate Edition. Find collectibles, unlock new areas, and overcome challenges.

Fast travel to Central Executive and head down towards the Sector Elevator to unlock a new Hotline entry, Faden Rides the Elevator. Jesse decides to investigate the Investigations Sector. Head down to the new area.

Head down the stairs to find the entrance area in disarray. Immediately in front of you is a folder on the floor with the Missing Agents correspondence.

There is a trophy for finding 80% of the collectibles in the Investigations Sector.

Clear the debris to the right of the entrance and search next to the stairs for a folder containing the Keystone Inspection correspondence. Back in the entrance area there is a folder with the Tractor Supplement case file on a filing cabinet and to the left of that is a folder containing the Resignation Letter correspondence. On the floor near the signs is a folder containing the Staffing Issue correspondence.

In the office to the left of the entrance are two folders containing the Darling Investigation report and the Casey Inquiry correspondence. You will notice a power core in the wall next to it.

Grab it using Launch and carry it up the stairs on the right of the area. Launch the power core into the socket in the office upstairs.

While you're here, you can read two folders: the Ethics Investigation report on the floor to the left and the Tractor Procedures case file on a cabinet near the power socket.

Head back downstairs and go through the door towards the Sector Head Office. Read the folder next to the staircase for the Cauldron Lake Update correspondence. Continue upstairs where you will find no fewer than three folders: the Underhill Background report to the left of the door, the Director Investigation report on a cabinet on the right of the office and the Trench: Official Warning correspondence on another cabinet. Grab the contents of a loot container before heading back downstairs.

Go through the now-operational security gate and read the folder on the conveyor belt containing the Specimen Escape Assessment report. Go through the other security gate and claim the Sealed Firebreak control point. Go into the security office to the right where you will find a folder containing the Blessed Investigation report on the desk.

Just past the control point is familiar light cord. Pull on it three times.

After the pretentious cutscene, walk forward to update your objective.

Traverse the Oceanview Motel

In the lobby, ring the bell on the desk once to unlock the first two rooms on the left. Go inside the first and turn off the TV and turn off the radio in the second room.

Return to the lobby where you will find a vending machine that you can turn off.

This unlocks the third room where you will find a key on the desk.

Return to the lobby where you will unlock a new Hotline entry, Hartman's Final Act. Unlock the Pyramid door and pull the light cord three times. You will emerge by the now-unsealed Firebreak.

Explore the Investigations Sector (2)

Go into the Firebreak and Levitate to the next walkway. Don't hang around because there is an Astral Spike there. Take off again and make your way to the next walkway down and go through the doors on the left.

You will be attacked by a couple of Hiss Troopers. Go through the security checkpoint and search the toilets on the left for a loot container. Make your way around the corner and claim the Abandoned Offices control point.

Search the nearby shelter for a loot container and head down the corridor towards Filing and Processing. You will come under attack from a large number of Hiss Troopers and Rangers.

If you acquired sufficient materials in the battle, you will now be able to construct a new weapon form, Surge, which is a grenade launcher. There are no fewer than three trophies related to its use: Surge of Power for fully upgrading it, Surge Protector for killing 50 enemies and Work Smarter, Not Harder for firing a grenade at an object and then launching that object at an enemy.

When you see a vending machine, shoot it. If it comes to life, chase it down and kill it. There is a trophy for destroying them.

Go left from the entrance to an office with a bright light on a cupboard and a painting on the wall.

Punch through the wall and go through for 1 Ability Point. Climb over the furniture and debris to find a loot container.

Note that there is a trophy for finding most of the hidden locations in the Investigations Sector.

Make a note of the sad looking plant just past the hole in the wall.

Pick up the light from the cupboard using Launch, take it through to the next room and shine the light on the plant so that it perks up. This is part of a side mission that you haven't yet unlocked.

Leave the office and go up the corridor to the back of the area. You will find a folder on the counter with the Hartman Arrest report. Go a short distance up the twisted staircase to find a loot container. Go back down and turn right at the end. Just past the Service Tunnel sign is a folder on the floor with the Foot Gossip dead letter. Look nearby for another wilted plant.

Grab the light from wherever you left it and shine it on the plant to restore it.

Head towards the Service Corridor. The way ahead is blocked by mass of amorphous darkness. Before dealing with it, go into the storeroom on the left where you'll find a couple of lights and another plant to restore.

Keep hold of the light and shine it at the amorphous mass to destroy it.

Head through the newly-revealed door and look up to spot a walkway that you can Levitate to.

Head through to a Mold filled room where you will find a loot container. While you're here, shoot all the Mold bulbs growing out of the walls.
