Complete The Pyramid mission in Control Ultimate Edition, including defeating Marshall and finding the Cat's Ears accessory.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Head through the exit at the back of the cavern and follow the tunnel to emerge on a ledge overlooking the Crossroads with a loot container.
  2. 2
Look across and Levitate (use your power to jump and hover in the air) to a ledge.
  3. 3
When you reach the third ledge, a Maneki-neko (8/8) will appear in a box.
  4. 4
Levitate down to the Crossroads and fast travel to the Collapsed Department.
  5. 5
    Head into the Firebreak.
  6. 6
Levitate down to the Firebreak below you (Base Camp) and then across to the one to the left of that.
  7. 7
At the end, you will find all the Maneki-nekos gathered.
  8. 8
Approach the Firebreak doors and they will open in sequence.
  9. 9
Go through to a Maneki-neko shrine to unlock the One of Us trophy and pick up the Cat's Ears accessory from the pedestal.
  10. 10
If you want to remove the Cat's Ears, interact with the pedestal again.
  11. 11
Levitate back across to the previous Firebreak and make your way back to the Crossroads.
  12. 12
    Approach Emily for a scene.
  13. 13
Levitate down the hole at the base of the Nail.
  14. 14
At the bottom, find a tape recorder which plays Log 7: Changes.
  15. 15
Head down the only tunnel, destroying crystals that may block your way, and Levitate across two pits.
  16. 16
Once across, you will unlock the Two Birds, One Bomb Hotline entry.
  17. 17
Continue across another couple of pits to reach the Lower Crossroads control point.
  18. 18
Look for a tape recorder with Log 8: Purpose.
  19. 19
Prepare for a boss fight. A useful personal mod (a piece of equipment that grants passive bonuses) that you can fit is Launch Health Recovery.
  20. 20
Call up a Ranger (an allied NPC (non-player character — anyone the game controls, not you)) on the radio and head through the ominously red cavern.
  21. 21
Head towards the figure hanging in the sky for a cutscene (a non-interactive cinematic the game plays automatically).
  22. 22
    Defeat Marshall.
  23. 23
Interact with the Nail to cleanse it.
  24. 24
Go through the cave on the left, using crystals halfway across to create a temporary platform to cross a pit.
  25. 25
    Cross the next pit.
  26. 26
Go through into the darkness for a few scenes and the Strong Foundation trophy.
  27. 27
You will earn 3 Ability Points and a final Hotline entry, Departure, which should unlock the Subterranean Research trophy.
  28. 28
Emily will have more topics to talk about.
Tips
  • Marshall is a mix between Hiss Trooper (throws grenades) and Hiss Sharpened (zips around and attacks with an axe).
  • Be careful when crossing the bridges in the arena, as falling off is a major threat.
  • Keep a distance from Marshall as she can kill you up close in two hits.
  • You can Launch (use your telekinetic power to throw objects) grenades back at Marshall.
  • Marshall dodges projectiles frequently but not consistently.
  • Shoot Marshall when you get the opportunity, particularly if your Ranger ally distracts her.
  • Use environmental hazards: shoot a bridge if she stands on it, or use Shape (your power to manipulate objects) on crystals if she stands on them.
  • Summoned Hiss will appear frequently. Charged are little threat, but Hiss Sharpened can be Seized (turned into an ally).
  • Be very careful if you see evidence of a Sniper lining up a shot and take the enemy out ASAP.
  • If you see a bunch of Astral Mimics, don't attack them – they are allies sent by Former and can be useful.
  • When Marshall's health is low, she will start throwing multiple grenades at once. If you have Multi-Launch, you can throw multiple grenades back.
  • The mechanic of using the crystal platform to cross the first pit back to the Lower Crossroads control point barely gives you enough height to get to the other side and might take a few attempts.
