Find all Sigils in dragon quest i and ii hd 2d remake: Star, Sun, Moon, and Water. Learn their locations and effects, including MP regen and critical hit rate.

You’ll be tasked with hunting down the five Sigils fairly early in the game. The Dragonlord’s Descendent will charge you with rescuing the faeries at the Shrine of Rain, after which the Over-Seer will give you the Echo Flute to help locate the Sigils. However, turning on quest objectives makes this item redundant.

Star Sigil Location and Effects

This Sigil is found in the Lighthouse dungeon, located on an island south of Alefgard, west of Moonbrooke, and east-northeast of the Oasis. Chat with the “Guardian of the Sigil”, work your way up to 7F for a scene, then follow the old man down to 2F and defeat the Nekomancer and its four Gremlins to obtain the Star Sigil.

Once you have the Star Sigil, you will regenerate a moderate amount of MP every time you defend in battle, roughly 15-30 MP per round.

Sun Sigil Location and Effects

The Sun Sigil can be found at the Shrine of Flames, located on a small island east of Burrowell and west of Zahan. The way to the Sigil is blocked until you complete story events in Burrowell. Enter the city, go to the northeastern building, and overhear the Town Guard Captain and Town Chief arguing. After making a choice between Peronel’s advocacy and Caradoc’s diplomacy, you must defeat the Succubeast. Be wary of its Hypnowhip attack, which can deal heavy damage to the entire party and inflict confusion. Stick to single-target spells, use defensive buffs, and keep your health up. Having recruited and leveled up Matilda beforehand will help. After the fight, you’ll be in Burrowell. Rest at the inn for more scenes, then travel to the Shrine of Flames and present the Letter from the Chief to the guards to gain passage. Head uphill to claim the Sun Sigil.

The Sun Sigil improves the critical hit rate of your attacks and some abilities.

Moon Sigil Location and Effects

Sail to the island housing Dirkandor, enter the castle, and talk to the King of Dirkandor. He will reward you with the Moon Sigil if you defeat his caged beasts: 3x Hades Condors, then 2x Smackanapes, and finally a Striking Sabrecat. You can rest between fights. Winning all three matches grants the Moon Sigil.

The Moon Sigil randomly overcharges spells, including offensive and recovery spells.

Water Sigil Location and Effects

You will need the Magic Key to obtain this Sigil. Travel to the Deserted Village west of Moonahan and enter the westernmost house. If the quest is active, you’ll see scenes where party members fret about hauntings. Enter the house, go downstairs to reach the Den of Thieves. You’ll need to defeat a trio of bosses: the Wild Hog, Pillager, and Surgical Spirit. Be wary, as Wild Hog can use Sweet Breath to put characters to sleep, and Surgical Spirit can use Persecutter on sleeping characters. Surgical Spirit tends to attack first, giving you a round to recover if anyone falls asleep. Use Sobering Slap to wake afflicted characters.

Tips
  • Turn on quest objectives to make the Echo Flute redundant.
  • For the Star Sigil boss fight, focus on defeating the Nekomancer.
  • When fighting the Succubeast for the Sun Sigil, prioritize healing and buffs, and consider using Matilda.
  • For the Moon Sigil challenges, you can rest between fights if needed.
  • In the Den of Thieves for the Water Sigil, focus fire on one enemy at a time and be prepared to wake up sleeping party members.
