As you journey through Alefgard in Dragon Quest, you can find a variety of items from shops, treasure chests, drawers, sparkly spots, or by receiving them from people. The sell price of most items is half their purchase cost.

Equipping cursed items will prevent you from entering Tantegel Castle. A person in the Town of Tantegel can remove curses for free, but you will lose the cursed item, forfeiting potential profits from selling it.

Consumable Items

• Medicinal Herb — Costs 10G. Restores 20-35 HP. Can stack up to 6. One-time use.
• Torch — Costs 8G. Lights up dark dungeons. One time use.
• Chimaera Wing — Costs 24G. Returns you to Tantegel Castle. One time use.
• Holy Water — Costs 12G. Removes weaker encounters from the map for 64 steps. Does not work in dungeons. One-time use.
• Magic Key — Costs 16G, 24G, or 32G depending on location (Rimuldar is cheapest, Tantegel and Cantlin are more expensive and may require a key to access). Opens doors. Can stack up to 6. One-time use.

Cursed Items

• Wasteband — Found. Cursed item. Sell for 180G.
• Choker — Found. Cursed item. Sell for 1200G.

Key Items & Quest Items

• Faerie Flute — Found 4 steps south of the bath in Kol. Used in battle to put the Golem to sleep. Unlimited uses.
• Lyre of Ire — Found in Galen's Grave, Galenholm. Used to summon weak monsters. Needed to trade for the Staff of Rain. Unlimited uses.
• Sunstone — Found in Tantegel Castle. One of the three artifacts of Erdrick. Needed to trade for the Rainbow Drop.
• Staff of Rain — Obtained by trading the Lyre of Ire. . .
• Princess's Pledge — Obtained by defeating a Green Dragon and rescuing Princess Gwaelin. Shows experience needed for the next level and Tantegel Castle's position relative to yours. Unlimited uses.
• Mark of Erdrick — Found southeast of Cantlin, 70 steps south and 40-41 steps east of Tantegel Castle. . .
• Rainbow Drop — Obtained by trading the three artifacts of Erdrick to the Priest at the Holy Sanctum. Used to make a bridge at the tip of a peninsula west of Rimuldar. One-time use.
• Sphere of Light — Obtained by defeating the Dragonlord. Wipes all encounters from the map permanently. Passive use.

Stat-Boosting Items

• Seed of Agility — Found. Permanently boosts Agility by 1-3 points.
• Seed of Strength — Found. Permanently boosts Strength by 1-3 points.
• Seed of Resilience — Found. Permanently boosts Resilience by 4 points.
