Alright, let's talk about the Warrior class in Dragon's Dogma 2. Honestly, I've seen folks mention it, but I'm not totally sold on the appeal myself. Their biggest hang-up, in my book, is that super slow attack speed. It feels like a common issue with two-handed weapons in RPGs, you know?

The Warrior is all about using 'Heavy Weapons' – think two-handed swords and war hammers. This class is designed to soak up a ton of damage, especially with Augments that help you keep your cool. While you're charging up these massive weapon attacks, you're basically a sitting duck, kind of like a Mage or Sorcerer, but you're using physical damage instead of spells. The big difference? Spellcasters have range, you don't. Like the Mage, the Warrior can't dodge, Double Vault, or block. So, you're really just relying on your HP and Defense stats.

They've got a bunch of attacks, but surprisingly few that hit a wide area, which is a bummer. Plus, a lot of their attacks don't have much range, meaning you've gotta be pretty precise to land them. If I had to pick a favorite, it'd be the jumping heavy attack, but Exodus Slash and Arc of Deliverence can be handy too – *if* you can actually connect with them. For all the effort, their best weapons only offer about a 20% damage boost over the strongest one-handed weapons. That really makes me question why you'd bother, especially when an Assassin or Ranger can dodge better and deal more damage, either from afar or up close because they attack faster. Even a Fighter or Mystic Knight have shields, better weapon skills, and only a slight damage drop. So, why play Warrior?

What really grinds my gears is that even though they only use one weapon type, they can't assign skills to both bumpers like the Mage and Sorcerer can. Only having three active skills available at once is a real drag, and it's a disadvantage no other vocation has. On the plus side, they do have a few Augments that are definitely worth it. Clout is a huge Strength booster, making maxing out this Vocation a must for any Strength-focused build. Bastion is also great for beefing up your defense early on.

As a pawn, they can be a decent leveler with some solid Augments, so I get why some people like them. But for me? This Vocation just isn't my cup of tea.
