How to Defeat the Sorcerer

Learn how to defeat the final boss, the Sorcerer, in Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising. This guide covers both forms, their attacks, and strategies for victory.

The Sorcerer is the final boss of Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising, fought after Hurstwine. This boss has two forms that must be defeated consecutively, so ensure you have ample healing items for both encounters.

How to Defeat the Sorcerer (First Form)

The Sorcerer's first form utilizes all four elements. He floats around the arena, casting spells in a random order:

• Fire: Shoots large energy balls that can inflict Burn and leave lingering flames on the ground.
• Lightning: Calls down marked lightning bolts that can be easily avoided.
• Ice: Launches sets of three horizontally across the screen. These are marked and can be dashed through with CJ if timed correctly.
• Earth: Summons an earth wall as a shield in front of him. This shield must be broken, or you must get behind him to deal damage.

How to Defeat the Sorcerer (Second Form)

The Sorcerer's second and final form is more difficult but still manageable. Initially, he is protected by a shield that can be depleted by attacking, but it's best to wait for him to lower it voluntarily after a few attacks.

Minions and Attacks:

• Humanoid Figures: The boss summons slow-moving figures that are easily defeated. It is recommended to eliminate these as the Sorcerer can absorb them to regain health.
• Sacrificing Minions: If minions kneel, they sacrifice themselves to unleash attacks: ice shots across the screen or rock spikes from the ground. Both are marked with red lines but appear quickly.
• Sorcerer's Attacks:
  • Dark Energy Balls: Falling from the sky, these leave lingering flames upon impact. Avoid touching these flames to prevent being juggled.
  • Energy Balls: Larger energy balls are shot at your position. Moving consistently will help avoid these.
  • Shockwave: When the Sorcerer floats down, avoid getting too close as he will unleash a shockwave.

Weak Spot and Strategy:

• After the shockwave, the Sorcerer exposes a weak spot at the top of his body for a short duration.
• Use this opportunity to attack the weak spot, ideally with Link Attacks, which slow time and deal significant damage.
