Conquer Mount Yotei Shrine in Ghost of Yotei! This guide details the challenging platforming and climbing required to reach the summit and claim powerful charms.

Alright, let's tackle the Mount Yotei Shrine! This one's a bit of a climb, so get ready for some platforming. We'll guide you step-by-step to the summit where some sweet rewards await.

Where to Find It: You'll find the entrance to the Mount Yotei Shrine on the northwestern edge of the Yotei Grasslands. Just follow the Sarubetsu River north until it splits, then head west past Master Heijiro’s Garden. Keep an eye out for a trail of white flowers; they'll lead you right to the Torii gates marking the shrine's entrance.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Once you pass through the Torii gates, you'll see a collapsed wooden bridge. Don't worry, we'll get across. At the end of the bridge, jump across some branches to land on a ledge near a waterfall.
  2. 2
From there, turn left and use your grapple to ascend to another ledge.
  3. 3
Climb up the cliffs. Atsu will chime in about a ginkgo tree nearby.
  4. 4
Continue through another Torii gate and slide through a cleft. This is where the real ascent begins!
  5. 5
Follow the mountain path to the left, cross some beams, veer left up some stairs, and then climb some ledges.
  6. 6
Head right past some fox statues and slide down a slope. While sliding, jump and press [Button Prompt for Grapple] to grab onto a rope. Climb up, cross the rope, and climb another ledge to reach yet another Torii gate.
  7. 7
Go upstairs, slide down another slope. Once you recover, climb a ledge.
  8. 8
Turn left and climb some cliffs.
  9. 9
Keep going upstairs through another Torii gate. Pass under a natural stone arch, cross a beam, and jump across a gap using a platform. Go up more stairs, jump another gap, and at the end of a broken bridge, jump and grapple to reach a higher ledge.
  10. 10
Continue through another Torii gate. At the end of a broken bridge, turn left to spot some ropes. Jump and grapple onto the nearest rope, then do the same for the second rope. Cross it to the right.
  11. 11
Climb a ledge, turn left, and head past a tree.
  12. 12
Jump a gap to your left.
  13. 13
Climb the cliff ahead, then jump and grapple when your climbing is blocked.
  14. 14
Cross a fallen tree. At its end, jump and grapple to reach a higher ledge.
  15. 15
Go upstairs, turn right, and cross a rope. You'll reach a hut, and Atsu will comment on it.
  16. 16
Head up some more stairs and jump and grapple onto a rope.
  17. 17
Move right on the rope until you find a branch you can jump onto.
  18. 18
From the branch, jump onto a plank, then jump and grapple onto a second rope.
  19. 19
Jump onto a ledge to the right, continue up more ledges, and turn left to find a ledge with two Hydrangea flowers.
  20. 20
From the ledge with the Hydrangea flowers, turn left and jump across a branch to a ledge with a plank.
  21. 21
Continue forward under a red Torii gate, turn left, and climb more ledges to reach the bottom of a rocky slope where the stairs end.
  22. 22
Turn left and climb a ledge, then jump across a branch to another ledge.
  23. 23
Ascend as far as you can. Then, jump into the slope and keep trying to jump towards the far side. You should be able to reach a snowy ledge below where you started if you keep jumping as you slide.
  24. 24
Continue ascending by jumping across snowy rocks. Cross under another red Torii gate and head upstairs to another rocky slope.
  25. 25
Slide down this slope and jump and grapple when you're near (under) a rope. Climb up and jump onto a ledge to your left.
  26. 26
Jump a gap, then jump onto a cliff you can climb.
  27. 27
Jump across two branches, and on the second one, jump and grapple to climb to a higher ledge.
  28. 28
Turn right, jump over a gap to reach another Torii gate. Turn left under the gate to find a cleft you can squeeze through ahead. You're almost there!
  29. 29
Continue forward under another red Torii gate. Jump a gap and follow the path to a slope. Slide down.
  30. 30
Keep going on the linear path ahead to another rocky slope – just follow the snowy path below.
  31. 31
You'll reach another red Torii gate after jumping some gaps. Continue past it and look for a rock to your left. Circle around this rock to climb atop it, then jump a gap ahead.
  32. 32
Climb a ledge, then a cliff. Turn right and head up some snow-covered stairs to finally reach the summit!

Once you reach the top and pray at the shrine, you'll be rewarded with two powerful charms: the Mother’s Charm, which increases your arrow damage (upgrading as you learn more shamisen songs), and the Father’s Charm, which causes perfect parries to recover health (upgrading as you complete Sumi-e Paintings).

Extra Finds:

Up here, you can also find a [Pillar of the Fallen] and an [Altar of Reflection]. To find the Pillar, face the shrine, turn left, and follow the edge of the caldera. Keep going past a fast travel trunk, and you'll find it. To reach the Altar, slide down into the caldera and head to the center.
