The Journey Begins

Make your way north of the Embrace to find Rost by the bridge leading into Mother's Heart. Talk to Rost for a goodbye and enter the village.

After a cutscene, head up the path to the right to meet Teb, who will give you the Nora Brave armor and a free Treasure Box.

Interact with villagers for festivities. An elder up the road from Teb tells the story of the All-Mother and the Metal Devil.

Further up the road, find Karst for another free Treasure Box. Stock up on supplies and upgrade skills: Hunter Reflexes, Critical Hit, Healer, and Gatherer are recommended.

Locate the two Grazer Training Dummies: one south of the campfire, and another across the house to the left of the first.

Head up the road for a cutscene with the Carja. Speak to the man with a Focus for another scene. Erend will arrive; talk to him for more lore about the Sun King.

Head down the hill to the Blessing Ceremony to meet Teersa.

Speak with Olin again to confront him, then head to the Hunter's Lodge for a scene. Confront Bast and talk to Vala for additional dialogue if desired before sleeping.

After the cutscene of climbing the mountain, start the first trial: defeat a Grazer and claim a Proving Trophy. Use a shockwire and Critical Strike.

Bast will shoot your trophy; kill another Grazer, grab the trophy, and proceed to the Brave Trial.

Follow the path, take the zipline, cross the felled tree, climb ledges, and navigate platforms and cliff faces to reach the finish.

A cutscene will play, followed by an ambush. Head right of the archers to a climbable ledge. Flank and use Silent Strike on the archers.

After defeating the first wave, another scene triggers. Climb back to the ledge and deal with archers again, watching out for melee attackers.

After the second wave, a new attacker with a Deathbringer Gun appears. Use rocks for cover against melee attackers. Use Fire Arrows on the gunman, stunning him for heavy attacks.

Pick up the Deathbringer Gun and use it on the remaining archers. After the final wave, a scene ends the quest. This unlocks the Trophy: Triumphed in the Proving.

After the cutscene in The Womb of the Mountain, head out of your room, retrieve Aloy's clothes and Focus, and proceed through the doors.

The path is blocked; head right to another locked door. Look left for a vent shaft, crawl through to find a Power Cell, which starts Side Quest: Ancient Armory.

Backtrack through the vent and enter the room across the hall for Aloy's equipment and a scene. Follow Teersa to a large door for another cutscene.

Follow Teersa out of the mountain for a scene, then head into the village and speak to Teb by the front gate.

Climb the ladder and speak with Resh about the Proving for a scene.
