Follow this Into the Breach roadmap to progress through timelines and unlock the Secret Squad by completing Global and Squad Achievements.

Walkthrough

    Create a Profile.

    Start the Initial Timeline with Ralph Karlsson and the Rift Walkers.

    Begin on Archive Island, with access to other Corporate Islands locked.

    You can optionally do the Combat Simulation Tutorial (see #4 in Previous).

    Prepare for missions: Assign Pilots to Mechs, select Weapons and Equipment, and install Reactor Cores (to power Weapons, upgrades, Equipment, and Pilot Abilities).

    After completing four missions, you must defend the Corporate HQ from the Vek.

    Select a mission by clicking a red region on the island map for an overview. Decline by clicking outside the overview, or start by clicking on the mission overview map.

    Start the selected mission. Keep an eye out for the Beacon which summons a Strange Pod. Protect the Power Grid by preventing Grid Buildings from getting damaged. Complete the mission's Bonus Objectives. Kill the Vek. Do not let Mechs get destroyed or their Pilots killed. Earn Corporate Reputation, Grid Power, and Reactor Cores. Find Reactor Cores, sometimes Pilots and Weapons, from recovered/protected Time Pods. Work on Squad and Global Achievements to unlock additional Squads.

    Protect the Corporate Tower from the Leader Vek.

    If you completed all Bonus Objectives, select a Perfect Island reward.

    After protecting the Corporate Tower, use Corporate Reputation to trade for Equipment, Reactor Cores, and Grid Power. You can trade Equipment and CorPilots for +1 Corporate Reputation, or a Pilot for +2 Corporate Reputation.

    Completing Archive Island unlocks R.S.T. Island.

    Completing 2 Corporate Islands unlocks the Volcanic Hive.

    Completing R.S.T. Island unlocks Pinnacle Island.

    Completing Pinnacle Island unlocks Detritus Island.

    After securing 2, 3, or 4 Corporate Islands, go to the Volcanic Hive to make "The Last Stand".

    Select a Pilot or the last surviving Pilot to follow to the next Timeline.

Other Timelines:

  1. Keep the Pilot from the previous Timeline (the Last Traveler) to retain their experience and skills, or select a Pilot from the Hangar, which resets the Last Traveler's experience and skills.
  2. Select a Squad. Selecting the Secret Squad resets all Pilots in the Hangar, including the Last Traveler.
  3. Deploy the Squad.
  4. Select the starting island in the new timeline.
  5. Prepare for missions.
  6. Select a mission.
  7. Start the mission.
  8. Continue to work on Squad and Global Achievements to unlock the Secret Squad.
  9. Complete 4 Missions.
  10. Protect the Corporate Tower.
  11. Select a Perfect Island Reward.
  12. Trade Corporate Reputation.
  13. Select another unlocked Corporate island.
  14. Complete 2 Corporate Islands to unlock the Volcanic Hive.
  15. Complete "The Last Stand" mission on the Volcanic Hive.
  16. Select a Pilot to follow to the next Timeline (return to step #1 of Other Timelines).

  • Bonus Objectives often provide valuable rewards and contribute to unlocking Squads.
