Solve Kuon's puzzles by finding three talismans for the Sealed Shrine in the Yin Phase as Utsuki. Detailed solutions for the mansion's challenges.

Kuon's puzzles often rely on environmental observation and careful item management. This section will guide you through some of the more intricate challenges you'll face across the Yin, Yang, and Kuon Phases.

Yin Phase: The Sealed Shrine

As Utsuki, you'll encounter a shrine sealed by a complex mechanism. Unlocking it requires finding three specific talismans.

• First Talisman: Head to the West Wing, Second Floor. In the Children's Room, examine the antique doll on the shelf. A hidden compartment will reveal the Talisman of the Serpent.
• Second Talisman: Navigate to the East Wing, First Floor. Within the Storage Room, you'll find a dusty chest. Use the Rusty Key (found earlier in the Main Hall, under the collapsed debris) to open it and retrieve the Talisman of the Tiger.
• Third Talisman: This one is a bit trickier. In the Courtyard, observe the ancient stone lantern. You'll notice a faint inscription. Return to the Library and consult the Ancient Texts scroll (located on the central reading table). The text will reveal the sequence to press the lantern's carvings. Once correctly pressed, the Talisman of the Dragon will appear.

With all three talismans in hand, return to the Sealed Shrine. Place each talisman into its corresponding slot on the altar. The order matters: Serpent, Tiger, then Dragon. The shrine doors will then slowly creak open, allowing you to proceed.

Yang Phase: The Cryptic Scroll

Sakuya's journey often involves deciphering ancient writings. One notable puzzle involves a cryptic scroll found in the Underground Passage.

• Locating the Scroll: The Cryptic Scroll is pinned to a crumbling wall in the deepest part of the Underground Passage, just before the flooded section. Be wary of the lurking spirits here.
• Deciphering the Clue: The scroll contains a series of seemingly random symbols and numbers. This is a numerical cipher. You'll need the Deciphering Lens, which is located in the Master's Study, hidden inside a locked desk drawer (the key for this drawer is the Ornate Key, found in the Servants' Quarters).
• The Solution: Once you have the Deciphering Lens, examine the Cryptic Scroll in your inventory. The lens will highlight certain symbols, revealing a sequence of numbers: 4-2-7-1. This sequence corresponds to the combination lock on the large wooden chest in the Family Altar Room. Input the numbers to unlock the chest and obtain the Ritual Dagger, a crucial item for progression.

Kuon Phase: The Shifting Statues

In the Kuon Phase, the mansion itself seems to conspire against you. One significant puzzle involves a set of shifting statues in the Grand Gallery.

• The Challenge: Upon entering the Grand Gallery, you'll find four large statues arranged around a central pedestal. A faint inscription on the pedestal reads: "The spirits guide the path of the sun, moon, and stars."
• Finding the Clues:
  • Sun Clue: In the Observatory, examine the telescope. A small carving on its base depicts a sun aligned with a specific constellation. Make a note of this constellation.
  • Moon Clue: In the Attic, amongst the dusty crates, you'll find a Lunar Calendar Fragment. This fragment shows the phases of the moon and a corresponding symbol.
  • Stars Clue: Back in the Grand Gallery, look for a faded tapestry on the far wall. Behind it, you'll discover a hidden alcove containing a star chart. This chart highlights a specific star formation.
• The Solution: Each statue in the Grand Gallery represents a celestial body. You must rotate them to align with the clues you've gathered.
  1. Rotate the Sun Statue to face the direction indicated by the Observatory's telescope carving.
  2. Rotate the Moon Statue to display the symbol shown on the Lunar Calendar Fragment.
  3. Rotate the Star Statue to match the formation on the hidden star chart.
  4. The fourth statue, representing the Earth, should remain stationary.

Once all three statues are correctly aligned, the central pedestal will lower, revealing a hidden staircase leading to the mansion's deepest secrets.
