Learn how to survive encounters with the Maze Men in Lorelei and the Laser Eyes. Discover their mechanics, how to trigger them, and the answers to their memory challenges.

The Maze Men are a unique threat in Lorelei and the Laser Eyes, appearing after you first enter the Red Maze. These entities will periodically cause your screen to glitch, indicating their imminent arrival. While active, you cannot interact with the environment. They move slowly and are easily avoided by not walking into them or letting them approach you while standing still. Maze Men only appear in the Hotel's hallways and will not pursue you into dead ends or outside. Safe locations to save before an encounter include the Reception Office, Mirror Room, and Gatehouse.

Encountering a Maze Man is ultimately beneficial. Upon capture, you'll be taken to an interrogation room where the Maze Man will challenge you to memorize a scene. This scene contains people, objects, and details. Explore thoroughly, as the camera may shift to reveal hidden information. Once you feel you've observed enough, confirm with the Maze Man. A correct answer to their subsequent question returns you to the Hotel with a Script Page. An incorrect answer results in a Game Over, requiring you to reload a save. These questions are randomized per playthrough and even within the same playthrough, so failing means a new question upon reloading.

The trigger for Maze Men appearing is unclear, possibly a combination of time and game progression. Some suggest increasing your character's Stress Level, for example, by repeatedly observing the body in the Back Yard, may hasten their appearance.
