Max Payne Part 12 walkthrough covering Chapter 9: Straight From A Bad Dream and Part 2 Prologue: Nightmare. Includes Jack Lupino fight strategy.
Walkthrough
- 1In the first room of Chapter 9: Straight From A Bad Dream, collect letters, notes, and a book for graphic novel cinematics.
- 2Take the stairs up and follow the corridor, listening to Lupino's rant.
- 3Pass through the gate at the end, which locks behind you.
- 4Enter the large, multi-level main room. Pick up ammunition and painkillers on the tables to your right.
- 5Run to Point E. Two goons will drop from the upper level to attack you. Kill them.
- 6Focus your attention on the step by Point A, where a goon will drop down every few seconds. Kill the four goons that appear here.
- 7Run to Point D and use the pillar for cover (press the cover button to crouch behind walls or objects) from enemies at Point B. Six goons will drop to the second level and onto the stairs. Step away from the pillar and shoot them as they appear.
- 8When the goons stop coming, run back to Point A and move towards Point C. Kill the three goons there, watching for a fourth who drops behind you.
- 9Switch to dual Ingrams and collect ammo from the tables.
- 10After a cinematic, Jack Lupino and two bodyguards will attack. Hide behind pillars until they are close, then use shoot-dodge to attack. Lupino wields a sawed-off shotgun and Molotov Cocktails; his bodyguards have Ingrams.
- 11Defeat Lupino. The level fades out, ending Part 1.
- 12In Part 2: A Cold Day In Hell, the Prologue: Nightmare begins at your New Jersey home. Run forward into a maze. Take every available left turn (three total). If the path branches only to the right, go straight.
- 13At the end of the maze, you'll be in Max's den. Pictures of Michelle and Alex near the stairway trigger graphic novel cinematics.
- 14Continue to the second floor and enter the baby's room. The hallway will stretch out, ending shortly with a trail of blood leading into an abyss.
Tips
- Collect all available ammunition and painkillers before engaging enemies.
- Use the environment for cover during the fight against Lupino and his goons.
- The maze in the prologue requires careful attention to left turns.
