Walkthrough
- 1Watch the prologue featuring Snake in a graveyard, a reference to the end of Metal Gear Solid 3.
- 2After the prologue, Otacon will brief Snake on the OctoCamo and instruct him to find the MK.II, located directly north of Snake's current position.
- 3Equip the OctoCamo by lying prone to blend with the environment and crawl into the main street.
- 4Engage or avoid the initial two soldiers. As you progress, a tank will arrive with additional troops.

- 17Inside the building, walk up the stairs near the entrance. Otacon will explain that pressing the X-button while running allows Snake to perform a rolling dodge over small gaps.
- 18Use the rolling dodge to cross the gap ahead and hide behind the boxes in the next room.
- 19Equip your knife, sneak up behind the soldier with their back to you, and either stab or shock them.
- 20Pick up the soldier's weapon; Otacon will inform you it has an ID lock and cannot be used.
- 21Jump over the broken wall to drop to the next floor.
- 22Lie prone and crawl north along the floor, avoiding enemies patrolling the streets below.
- 23At the end of the floor, pick up a ration and jump down to the streets.

- 34Return to the room where the MK.II was and exit into the streets.
- 35Use the stairway inside the building south of the target building to reach the second floor and climb crates to cross to the next rooftop.
- 36Shimmy across the narrow board, then drop down to the right to pick up the RPG and instant noodles.
- 37Stand in the alley perpendicular to the Stryker tank and launch a rocket at it.
- 38After the tank explodes, head to the northeast corner where the rebels are located. They will consider you an ally due to your actions.
- 39In a small room near the entrance to the next area, pick up another RPG.
- 40Run to the second and final tank farther down the street and destroy it.
