Walkthrough

Upon taking control of Snake, plant a sleeping gas mine in the main room with all equipment.

Crawl through the room with the bed and into the hallway on the right.

After the first two Haven Troopers trigger the mine, plant the remaining three mines along the hallway and into the adjacent room.

As teams of Haven Troopers crash through windows, they will trigger the mines and be incapacitated, clearing the caution (enemy alert status).

Crawl out from under the bed and collect items.

When Laughing Octopus screams Snake's name, the boss fight begins.

Boss: Laughing Octopus

Immediately run out of the room through the west door and use the wall for cover (press the cover button to crouch behind walls or objects) as Octopus prepares her machine gun.
While she is firing, switch to a shotgun (with non-lethal V-Ring ammo for the doll) or machine gun and equip the Solid Eye.
After she stops firing, peek out and shoot her.
If hit, Octopus will curl into a ball, release an ink cloud, and disappear, leaving tracking bombs. Evade the bombs.
Be aware of her aggressive strategy (crashing through windows) and defensive strategy (using OctoCamo to blend in).

Head southwest from the start and pick up the ration on the grass.
Continue following footprints until the path diverges; take the north path.

Using sleeping gas mines significantly speeds up the initial area clear.
