Emperor Shao Kahn's lust for power is matched only by his ruthlessness. Millennia ago he overthrew Onaga as ruler of Outworld and has conquered many other realms since. Eventually he turned his attention to Earthrealm. The Mortal Kombat tournament prevents him from taking the realm by force, but if Shao Kahn's champions win 10 consecutive tournaments, Earthrealm will be his. As long as his champions Shang Tsung and Prince Goro do not fail him, he will be victorious.

• Taunt (Laugh): Down, Left, [FP]
• Taunt (Point): Down, Forward, [FP]
• Shoulder Charge: Back, Forward, [FP]
• Upward Shoulder: Back, Forward, [BP]
• Spear Toss: Down, Back, [BP]
• Hammer Toss: Back, Forward, [FK]
• Hammer Swing: Back, Forward, [BK]
• Hammer Cut: Down, Back, [BK]

X-Ray Move (Requires full Super bar):

• It's Official: Flip Stance + Block (Shao Kahn performs a jumping overhead smash with his war hammer, knocking the opponent to the ground. He grabs the opponent's arm and steps on their head. He then picks them up by their arm and headbutts their face. Stand in sweep distance.)

Finishing Moves:

• Home Run: Down, Down, Forward, Back, [FP] (Shao Kahn knocks his opponent in the air. He wields his war hammer and with a baseball swing, shatters his opponent.)
• Double Down: Forward, Back, Forward, Back, [FK] (Shao Kahn digs his fingers into his opponent's chest and proceeds to tear them in half with his bare hands. If you watch the "Mortal Kombat Trailer" in the Extras section, you can see him perform this on Raiden.)
• Stage Fatality: Up, Up, Back, [FP]
• Babality: Back, Back, Down, [FK] (Baby Shao Kahn roars, then announces that the player sucks.)
