Players step into the shoes of Private Investigator Jack Pepper, a war hero navigating the dangerous and corrupt city of Mouseburg. The game features a unique monochromatic visual style, a retro jazz soundtrack, and combat mechanics that blend classic weaponry with cartoonish chaos.

As P.I. Pepper, you'll uncover a complex web of intrigue involving murder and corruption, facing off against heavily armed gangs and unique bosses. The game emphasizes creative and violent combat, allowing players to discover and combine powerful upgrades with comical weapons. Melee combat can be enhanced with items like Spike-D Spinach, and traversal can be improved with tools like a Grappling Hook.

The game world is diverse, featuring locations such as dark city streets, noir film studios, casinos, a marina, and underground sewers.
