Career Mode Introduction: Start Career Mode and watch the comic-like animations. You are the same character from Need for Speed Underground, starting fresh in Bayview after an incident orchestrated by Caleb. You'll meet Rachel and begin in her Nissan 350Z, which serves as your career vehicle.

Initial Objectives: Receive your first SMS from Rachel with basic car gadget info. You can press X to return to gameplay or / o go to Mailboxes to manage messages. You'll get messages about the Mini-map and available races. Your initial objective is to go to the Car Lot, but you can participate in available races first.

Exploration and Tips: Receive messages about the World map and Steering controls. Search the airport for Game Tips Messages, especially if you're new to the game. You can also earn money by challenging other cars in Outrun Races.

Race #001/218 (Circuit): This is a 2-lap Circuit race on the Outer Ring track, starting from Scott, with a purse of $200. You'll race against Serena (Toyota Supra), Scott (WRX STi), and Kristian (Audi A3). The objective is to win the race.
