Al Mamoon

Follow this guide to defeat Rusty's Nightmare in Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch. Learn how to restore Rusty and gain new allies and spells.

Alright, so you've made your way to Al Mamoon and need to find Myrtle. Just head straight down until you spot her, then go to her house. Drippy's gonna suggest using 'Spring Lock' on the door, so give that a shot, but it won't work. Don't worry about it for now, just start heading west. You'll bump into Pea again, so run back to Myrtle's house and have a chat with her. She'll tell you to get inside, so try the door again – good news, it's unlocked!

After the scenes inside, you'll need to head to Rusty's shop to sort things out. Drippy's gonna give you a heads-up to make sure your HP and MP are in good shape before you go in, and it's always a good idea to save your game. Once you're ready, head on in. Instead of a chill meeting with Myrtle's dad, you're gonna get ambushed by a Nightmare!

Boss Fight: Rusty's Nightmare - Void of Darkness

This Nightmare is a bit of a tough one, but don't sweat it. Keep an eye on its attacks and try to find an opening. Once you've managed to defeat it, you'll learn a bit more about these nasty creatures. The next step is to find a piece of heart to help Rusty, and luckily, it's right in front of you. Talk to his wife and choose 'Take Heart' to get some of her kindness. Then, talk to Rusty himself, choose 'Give Heart', and you'll restore him back to normal!

Now, head back to Myrtle's house to share the good news. After some heartwarming scenes, you'll be back outside, ready to grab some of Myrtle's courage. Use 'Take Heart' to collect and store it in your Locket. Once you've got that, cast 'Gateway' to zip back to Al Mamoon.

Back to Al Mamoon

Make your way back to Rashaad's stall and chat with his daughter. Choose 'Give Heart' to give her the courage you collected and restore her. More scenes will play out, and you'll learn about the Clarion. Both Rashaad and his daughter, Esther, will agree to help you out. Even better, Esther wants to join your party full-time, bringing her familiar, a Drongo, along with her! You'll also snag **[ESTHER’S CLOTHES]** automatically.

As a bonus, Rashaad will hook you up with the spells you originally came for. You'll get the **[PUPPET STRING], [SECRET INGREDIENT], [MAGIC LAMP]**, and **[PULSE]** spell pages for your Magician's Companion. Pretty sweet deal!
