Learn how to get the ability to sail the seas in Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch, including how to recruit Swaine and open green chests.
Alright, so you've finished up with that Errand and now it's time to get back to the main story. Remember that Momooni boy whose pigeons you helped out? Head back to him for your reward. You'll get a couple of Phoenix Feathers and 400 G for your trouble. Not bad!
Now, make your way back to Castaway Cove. A scene's gonna trigger when you arrive, so get ready for that. Before we push forward, though, it's a really good idea to pop into the Cat's Cradle and make sure your party is in tip-top shape. If anyone's feeling a bit under the weather (or, you know, cursed), get them healed up. Also, grab some Sleep-Be-Gones and Confusion-Be-Gones from the peddler if you don't have 'em already. Trust me, you'll want these for what's coming next.
Once you're all prepped, head down to the pier. It's time to face a boss that looks like it crawled right out of a nightmare.
Boss Fight: Swaine's Nightmare
This fight is pretty straightforward once you get the hang of it. Focus on dodging its attacks and chipping away at its health. The key is to stay mobile and don't get greedy with your hits. After you finally put this nightmare to rest, you'll need to find the restraint you're looking for. Head back to the Cat's Cradle – you'll find the Governor there, and he's willing to share a piece of information with you.
With that sorted, return to the quayside. You'll find the thief you were looking for, and his name is Swaine. After a bit of a chat, he and his familiar, Hurly, will join your party. This is a huge deal because Swaine's special ability lets him open up those green chests you've been seeing around. Go up to the nearby green chest, lock onto it, and nab the [FLING FLAME GEM] inside!
