A comprehensive guide to the Homecoming section of Paladins, detailing Ratsurk, party member recommendations like Hawk and Peppi, and the journey to Reiyold.
Ratsurk
Ratsurk is in a state of disrepair, with only the tavern, elder's house, and a northern residence still standing. The town now shares background music with the ghost town of Karon. Hawk and Peppi are available in the tavern and can be recruited as powerful mercenaries for your endgame party.
At this stage, you can recruit every mercenary in the game. Consider your final party composition carefully. While physically-oriented mercenaries like Nails and J Razav are useful for upcoming dungeons, their effectiveness diminishes against the final bosses. Here are some recommended choices:
- Hawk: Lacks physical prowess but excels in magic. He misses key spirits like Air and Sphere, and Heat is often resisted. However, he has access to DFup, a single-target buff that can be time-consuming to apply to the whole party. His speed allows for good use of Megabl.
- Peppi: Fast with good physical damage, but limited spells. He offers debuffs like Freeze and DFdown, and magical damage with BreakS and BreakA. His speed makes him an effective healer with Megabl, but his contribution to the final boss is minimal.
- Mouth: Strong physical damage and magic selection, though slow. He has powerful attack magic like Storm and LStorm, and buffs such as MGWall and MGdown. These are less effective against the predominantly physical final bosses but useful for dungeons.
- Blades: Similar to Hawk, relying on magic over physical ability. He knows powerful spells like LStorm and DFup. A significant drawback is his inability to heal himself or others, making him less useful for the final boss once buffs are applied.
- Lilie: Despite weaker gear and inability to heal others, her stats and spell repertoire are strong. She lacks large area-of-effect spells but has decent options like Blowup, FireA, and BoltA. Crucially, she knows ATback, a spell that reflects damage, immensely useful against the remaining bosses. A party with three characters using ATback can deal significant reflected damage per round.
- Fastjo: Another mercenary who knows ATback, but little else. He cannot heal, has outdated weapons, lacks offensive magic, and has very low defense. He is only recommended if you want a full party buffed with ATback to let bosses damage themselves.
Even without mercenaries, no-mercenary runs are possible, though Gorf and Dan offer minimal contribution.
Once your party is set, enter the rope network building near the town's entrance and take the gondola to Reiyold.

Reiyold
In Reiyold, most people recognize Chezni. A child to the south may trick you out of 300G if you claim to know Chezni. The southernmost house contains a save lady and an S sweat in a cabinet. The learning center offers nothing new, and the item shop has standard wares. In the western house, Chezni's mother will have you stay the night. The next morning, she mentions a sword on Dasdan Island and advises you to see the fisherman in the southernmost house for a boat. Before that, check the cabinet for an S tavern. Borrow the fisherman's boat, sail directly south of Reiyold to a small island, disembark, and enter the black hole. You cannot cross the shoals with this boat.
