Persona 3 FES Part 81 walkthrough: Learn how to defeat Erebus, its skills, and the best team composition for the final battle.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
When fighting Mitsuru and Yukari, be aware they use Vorpal Blade, Primal Force, Myriad Arrows, Mabufudyne, and Magarudyne. Mitsuru may cast Megidolaon if you use Magic Mirror for over 400 HP damage.
  2. 2
Both possess Angelic Grace, which dodges all magic skills, making Thunder Reign less effective on Ai. Masukukaja can help slightly if using Thunder Reign. Alternatively, equip Norn (Absorb Wind) and use Panta Rhei or Pierce Attack on Mitsuru, assigning Metis' target to her to limit Yukari's damage.
  3. 3
Mitsuru is more dangerous than Yukari due to Sexy Dance, Mind Charge, and Mabufudyne. Megidolaon is only a threat if you use Magic Mirror.
  4. 4
After defeating Mitsuru, Yukari is less of a threat as Ai and Metis will absorb/null her Ma/Garudyne. You can use Thunder Reign again, but cancel AoA to prevent her Garudyne. This is risky as Yukari may dodge with Angelic Grace. Use Metis' Orgia Mode to end the battle faster.
  5. 5
Erebus has 12,000 HP and high Strength, Magic, Endurance, and Agility. It evades attacks more often than Nyx Avatar and has twice its HP.
  6. 6
Erebus uses final-tier elemental spells like Ragnarok, Niflheim, and others.
  7. 7
Halfway through the battle, Erebus uses Dark Embrace to gather energy for three turns. Deal about 1,000 HP damage within these three turns to disperse the energy.
  8. 8
If you fail to deal 1,000 HP damage within three turns, Erebus will launch Primal Darkness, which can deal up to 500 HP damage if unprotected. Masukukaja is useless against this, but Marakukaja can lower the damage to around 300 HP.
  9. 9
On the first turn against Erebus, set Aki to Support and others to Full Assault. Cast Marakunda on Ai so everyone's attacks deal more damage. Aki's Masukunda will help allies' attacks connect. Metis will use Brave Blade and Junpei will use Gigantic Fist.
  10. 10
After a couple of turns, Erebus uses Dark Embrace. Set everyone to Full Assault to deal 1,000 HP damage quickly.
  11. 11
After the second turn of Dark Embrace, Erebus may cast Evil Smile, causing some allies to lose their turn. If Ai is unaffected, use Me Patra so everyone can attack. If you cannot deal 1,000 HP damage within three turns, set Junpei to Support to cast Marakukaja.
  12. 12
As Erebus' HP nears zero, its defense increases slightly. Keep Marakunda active for higher damage.
  13. 13
Be cautious of Erebus' constant use of Ragnarok, Thunder Reign, etc., as switching to a Persona with a weakness can lead to a game over.
  14. 14
Once Erebus' HP is zero, use Rush for a physical attack to end the battle.

Tips
  • Erebus attacks only once per turn, unlike Nyx Avatar.
  • Masukukaja is useless against Primal Darkness.
  • Marakukaja can lower Primal Darkness damage to around 300 HP.
  • If you cannot deal 1,000 HP damage to Erebus during Dark Embrace within three turns, switch Junpei to Support to cast Marakunda.
  • Always have Marakunda in effect during the final phase when Erebus' defense increases.
