    After obtaining the Rising Badge, leave Dragon's Den and enter Blackthorn City.

    Master Ball & Legendary Capture Quests: With the Rising Badge, you can get a Master Ball from Professor Elm in New Bark Town. You can also now capture your version's legendary Pokémon (Ho-Oh in Gold Version, Lugia in Silver Version). Refer to the specific guides for these captures.

    Waterfall HM Item Roundup: The Waterfall HM allows access to new areas and items.

    Mt. Mortar: Enter via the central entrance on Route 42. Use Flash, Surf north to the waterfall, and use Waterfall to ascend.

    On the upper level, go north through the archway into the new area.

    Go northwest and Surf to the northwestern portion to find a Rare Candy.

    Return to the entrance. Go east of it to the water, Surf east, and then Surf across the next body of water.

    After getting TM40, go south, over the ledge, then west and backtrack across the pond.

    Head east and cross to the opposite side of the area.
