Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game Part 11 walkthrough: Learn how to defeat enemies like Malcolm, William, and Jesse, and find Subspace Highways for money.
Walkthrough
- 1When facing an enemy that can be knocked down, keep pressure on him with a weapon.
- 2After defeating the first enemy, watch out for a LUKE that will jump out of a blue garbage can without warning. Punish him. His life is worth fifty cents.
- 3Continue on and stay on the bottom of the screen. A bus will drive by; when you see '!!!' on the screen, be prepared.
- 4WILLIAM pops out behind the bus; he is alone, so practice fighting him. Remember, anyone with his general body shape cannot be hit with a Fast combo.
- 5You will come across a park fence, along with MIKE and LUKE. There are only two of them and they do not react quickly. Defeat them.
- 6Proceed into the park and grab a weapon, such as a baseball bat, as you will be attacked on both sides.
- 7LUKE and RICHARD will come in from the right, and MIKE and another Richard will come in from the left. Prioritize taking out the enemies on the right first, as Luke is more dangerous than Mike, and you want to avoid dealing with Richard's defenses while fighting him.
- 8As you defeat the enemies, another LUKE and another RICHARD will appear. Focus on Luke and dodge Richard's thrown weapons.
- 9Once all enemies are defeated, move on with caution, as JESSE will appear from the right. Be prepared for an offscreen flying kick.
- 10Another JESSE will soon follow. They are quick, so try attacking them in the air. They have a speed advantage and can perform a painful three-hit combo if approached normally. You might reach level 3 around this point.
- 11MALCOLM is standing around immediately after this. It is a good idea to attack him before he starts his beatdown. Be careful when using dash attacks on him while he is down; if he thinks you are too close, he will punish you with a low kick that does about 20 damage.
- 12There is an ice block in the ground near Malcolm that is a good throwing weapon. It slides around on the ground for a long time.
- 13When the screen stops moving and two DOBERMANs appear, throw the ice block at them and get out of its way. Thrown items bounce off the boundaries of the arena. Manipulate the dogs into its path to get hit multiple times.
- 14MIKE and LUKE will appear when both DOBERMANs are down. Defeat them as you have before.
- 15After defeating Mike and Luke, you have a choice: enter the garage door with a star mark above it to enter a Subspace Highway, which will make the next part of the stage shorter and give you a lot of money.
- 16Subspace Highways are warps filled with blue bricks (worth 25 cents each), '?' blocks with 25-cent coins, and flying piggy banks (worth $1.65 each if destroyed before they fly past the starting point). They also typically warp you past several fights.
- 17If you choose the Subspace Highway, skip ahead until the text 'fuzzy pickles' is mentioned. Even if you do not take this option, consider returning later for money.
- 18If you did not go into the Subspace Highway, prepare for a tough fight against MALCOLM, WILLIAM, and LEE. Malcolm and William become more dangerous with backup.
- 19Try to get Lee to throw things at his friends while you keep the other two at bay. It is difficult but possible to grab William and use him as a bludgeon. Avoid positioning yourself so Malcolm can kick you while he is down. The fight becomes easier when Malcolm is defeated.
- 20Next is a snowball fight. Pick up white patches of snow from the ground to use as weapons; they are used up in one hit.
Tips
- If an enemy is getting hit, they are not attacking you.
- Setting up a pitfall for an enemy is not as easy as it looks, and it costs money you need.
- Anyone sharing William's general body shape cannot be hit with a Fast combo.
- When fighting multiple enemies, prioritize the more dangerous ones first.
- Try taking to the air to fight Jesse and his follow-up, as they are very quick and can perform a damaging combo if approached normally.
- Malcolm can punish you with a low kick that does about 20 damage if you are too close when he is recovering.
- Thrown items, like the ice block, do not discriminate between friend or foe once thrown.
- Shortening the fight with the DOBERMANs by using the ice block is a good idea, as their bites hurt.
- Subspace Highways are generally easier sections that make your life easier.
- If you choose the Subspace Highway, you will skip some tough fights.
- If you do not take the Subspace Highway option, the fight against Malcolm, William, and Lee is significantly harder.
- Try to use Lee's tendency to throw things to your advantage in the fight against Malcolm, William, and Lee.
- Snowballs are used up in one hit.
