Learn how to defeat Todd Ingram and navigate Stage 4-1a: Transit and 4-1b: Tramway Roof in Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game. Includes enemy details and strategies.
Walkthrough
- 1Todd Ingram Boss Fight: Todd has very high defense. You cannot deal significant damage until you force him to use a specific attack.
- 2Todd's Attacks: He can grab you with a psychic stranglehold (mash Square to break free), perform an electrical headbutt (cannot get close while he's doing this), and fling weapons psychically if you stay far away. All of these can be blocked except the choke.
- 3Triggering the Weakness: Deal enough damage to enrage Todd. He will leap to the side, flash a WARNING screen, and unleash a screen-filling beam of vegetables. This attack is unblockable but deals moderate damage.
- 4Exploiting the Weakness: Immediately after the vegetable beam attack, Todd's defense crumbles. Rush forward and attack him as much as possible. This is your window to deal full damage.
- 5Repeating the Strategy: Continue the fight, repeating the process of damaging him enough to trigger the vegetable beam, then attacking him while his defense is down. He will use the vegetable beam attack one more time than before each subsequent phase. He should be defeated after he uses it three times in a row.
- 6Important Drop: Do NOT miss the One-Up mushroom Todd drops upon defeat. He drops it every time.
- 7Thrown Items: You cannot damage Todd with thrown items unless he is in the middle of an attack.

Aim to have all stats at 40 or higher, especially Strength and Speed.
Level 14 is highly recommended before fighting ninjas, as the Grand Slam attack makes them much easier to deal with.
Stage 4-1a
Transit

New Enemies:
STELLA: HP: 1. Drops: $0.75. Charges across the screen once. Jump-kicks have higher priority than her charge.
RICK: HP: 126. Drops: $1.60. Uses an annoying shoulder-tackle that costs 50 cents if it hits.
DAVID: HP: 102. Drops: $1.25. Aggressive and hard-hitting, worse than Ryan.
Old Enemies: Luke, Lee, Richard.
Walkthrough: This stage is a significant step up in difficulty. You'll face two groups of three STELLAs each, followed by three LUKEs and RICK. Avoid advancing too far to prevent triggering more enemies: three more STELLAs, LUKE, DAVID, LEE, RICK, and RICHARD. Be wary of DAVID. Grab the metal baseball bat; DAVID and RICK will reappear at the back of the bus.
Stage 4-1b
Tramway Roof

New Enemies:
HANZO: HP: 66. Drops: $0.65, a katana (usually). Hanzo is a fast, powerful ninja capable of critical hits and combos. He is the most common enemy in this section. He drops a katana, a powerful weapon with long range that you'll want to pick up. You need a weapon to reliably fight them as they outrange, overpower, and outnumber you. Do not let them surround you.
