Where to Find the Western Island Solstice Shrine

Alright, so you're looking for the Western Island Solstice Shrine in Sea of Stars? It's one of those spots you've probably spotted while sailing around but couldn't quite reach. Don't worry, it's not a secret you need to uncover super early on. You'll actually gain the ability to fly pretty late in the game, right around when the final dungeon becomes available. This flying ability is your key to accessing places like this western island that don't have docks. You'll find it situated between Sleeper Island (the one with Brisk) and Evermist Island (where Mooncradle is).

Before you can even think about the shrine itself, there's a Solstice Puzzle at the entrance. Just like the others, you need to light up all four runes. My advice? Start with the moon runes on either side. They stick around longer and give you a bit more time, so get those done first. Then, work your way over to the two sun runes. Once all four are lit, you'll be able to head inside the shrine.

Inside, you'll see a big platform with a bunch of arrows on it. The first thing you should do is hit the button right in front of you. This will slide the platform over to your position. The trick here is that each tile on the platform moves it one space in the direction of the arrow. You can only step on each tile once as it moves. If you mess up and step on the wrong arrow, no biggie! You can just jump off the platform, and you'll be back at the start. Hit that initial button again, and the platform will reset so you can try again.

Your main goal in this shrine is to hit two buttons located on the sides, and then make your way to the top to snag a chest. Here's the cool part: the arrows on the platform don't reset if you step off to hit those side buttons. You can totally use the platform's current state to help you. Here’s a path that works:

1. Start by stepping on the bottom corner tile.
2. From there, move up, then right, then down, and finally right on the platform.
3. Step off the platform and hit the first button.
4. Now, step back onto the platform, this time onto the right corner tile.
5. Move up, then left, then up, then left, and finally left again on the platform.
6. Step off to hit the second button.
7. Hop back onto the platform.
8. Move right, then right again, then right a third time, and finally down.

Following that path should put you right at the end. You can then hop off the platform and open the chest. Inside, you'll find an Eclipse Armor. This is seriously the best armor for either Zale or Valere, so make sure to equip it to one of them. Don't stress too much if you want another one, though – there's another Eclipse Armor out there to find later!
