  1. 1
Phase 1: Emma, the Gentle Blade
    1. Emma uses swift strikes, thrust moves, and an "Ashina Cross" type attack (recognized when she sheaths her sword and it gleams).
  2. 2
She can perform a perilous thrust attack after a past-strike, or a perilous sweep attack.
  3. 3
She also has a grab attack (recognized by her running at you) which requires you to jump away.
  4. 4
Equip Ichimonji: Double and dodge into her (her upper left, at about "11 O'Clock") as she attacks to punish her.
  5. 5
Heal only when far away from her.
  • Phase 2: Isshin Ashina (First Phase)
    1. Isshin uses many normal sword strikes that can be deflected for posture damage.
    2. His main attack is two overhead swipes with an uppercut strike.
    3. When you attack him, he may block and retaliate with three horizontal attacks or two followed by a perilous sweep attack.
    4. His "Ashina Cross" move (charges up and dashes forward) allows for free vitality damage if you back off and move in.
    5. He also uses his own Ichimonji: Double; dodge at the last second when he raises his sword to get free hits.
    6. He has occasional thrust perilous attacks that can be Mikiri Countered. His sweep attacks involve him twirling around.
    7. Do not use Spirit Emblems for this phase if possible.
    8. Consider using the Ceremonial Tanto and healing up before killing this phase.
  • Phase 3: Isshin Ashina (Final Phase)
    1. Immediately use an Yashariku's Sugar at the start of this phase.
    2. Use the Firecracker Shinobi Tool to stun Isshin briefly.
    3. Perform the combo: Firecracker, Whirlwind Strike, Firecracker, Whirlwind Strike repeatedly until Spirit Emblems are depleted. This deals significant vitality and posture damage.
    4. Be aware of his "Raging Flames" attack, which causes flames in the arena to spurt fire.
  • Tips
    • These are the last bosses you will fight in this run, so feel free to use any item you wish, but it's recommended to only do so after fighting them a few times.
    • For Emma, dodging into her and using Ichimonji: Double is a highly effective strategy.
    • For Isshin's Phase 2, practicing the trick of stabbing him, dodging behind him, and using Whirlwind Slash can be reliable.
    • Save Spirit Emblems for Phase 3.
    • The Ceremonial Tanto can be used to heal up before finishing Phase 2.
    • Use Yashariku's Sugar and the Firecracker Shinobi Tool at the start of Phase 3 for a powerful opening combo.
