Your guide to navigating The Gun Fort in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. Learn how to progress through the area, defeat enemies, and find valuable items.
Alright, so we've got a bit of a trek ahead of us to get to the Sunken Valley, and the path there goes right through this area, The Gun Fort. Don't worry, it's not as bad as it sounds. We'll take it step-by-step.
First things first, we need to warp back to the Old Grave Idol. Once you're there, turn around and take out the soldier and monk behind you. Then, take a right and deal with those soldiers. Make sure you prioritize the actual samurai first – they're the bigger threat.
We're going to head out the back gate, into that tall grass. You'll run into three monkeys that try to attack you, just take them out. Keep going until you find a house at the end of the path. Inside, you can pick up a Mibu Balloon of Spirit. Grab it and let's move on.
Up ahead, you'll find the Tengu. Remember how we talked about needing a Mastered Skill before this? If you've managed to grind one out, now's the time to talk to him. He'll be impressed and give you the Mushin Esoteric Text. Pretty neat!
After that little chat, head to the Sculptor's Idol: Great Serpent Shrine and rest. This will make the Tengu leave, but that's fine, we're done with him for now.
Okay, from the Great Serpent Shrine, we're going to head forward and grapple across the canyon. It's a big leap! Once you land, head up to the higher ledge you can see. You'll find some Eel x3 up there. After you've got those, drop back down and head down the hill. Keep an eye out for a log you can grapple to – grapple onto it when you see it. Then, drop down to the land below.
You'll spot another idol down here: the Sculptor's Idol: Under-Shrine Valley. From this idol, we have two ways to go, but we're heading UP first. You might think this path just leads to a couple of gunmen, but there's more to it. Grapple over to the land ahead. Yep, there are those two gunmen. They're pretty easy to rush down, even though they try to use thrust attacks. Just mashing the attack button should do the trick. They're basically the standard grunt soldiers for the Gun Fort.
Just past where those gunmen were, you can actually get up to a higher ledge. It involves jumping a gap and then kicking off the wall to grab the higher ledge, but it's not too tough. This path leads to an area where you can shimmy past a gap. Do that, and you'll find yourself technically back in the
