Learn Rouge's and Omega's moves, and identify level objects like checkpoints and rings in Sonic the Hedgehog Part 10.
Walkthrough
- 1Understand the Hover Craft controls: Jump button accelerates, double jump performs a Hover Jump, Attack button brakes/reverses, Left Stick steers, and Special Action fires the Machine Gun.
- 2Utilize Rouge's abilities: Glide by holding the Jump button during a jump. Climb vertical surfaces by flying towards them and using the Left Stick to cling, then press the Jump button to release (may require multiple attempts or reaching a corner). Plant, launch, or scatter bombs using the Attack button (standstill for place, during jump for launch, hold during jump for scatter). Plant bombs on walls, such as the stained-glass window in Kingdom Valley, to progress. Use Bomb Snipe by holding the Attack button, aiming with the Right Stick, and releasing to fire a shot in first-person view.
- 3Utilize Omega's abilities: Hover a short distance above the ground using the Jump button during a jump until the gauge runs out, using the Left Stick to move. Fire a spray of pellets with Omega Shot by tapping the Attack button. Launch fireballs mid-air with Omega Launcher by tapping the Attack button during a jump; this has longer range and more damage than Omega Shot. Use Lock-on Shot by holding the Attack button, using the Left Stick to lock onto enemies, then releasing to fire a Homing Laser (can be used on ground or while jumping).
- 4Identify and use general level objects: Touch a Point Marker (checkpoint (an auto-save point you restart from on death)) with two lampposts to set a respawn (be brought back to life at a checkpoint after death) point. Touch a Hint Ring (multicolored question mark) for a tip. Collect Rings to protect yourself from attacks; losing all Rings results in losing a life if hit without any. Collecting 100 Rings grants an extra life. Item Boxes contain helpful items. Use Springs to bounce high. Dash Panels and Dash Ramps increase speed. Grind on Rails along a pre-set path. Travel through Rainbow Hoops for 1000 Points and further travel. Use Flight Rings (green rings) to reach higher areas with Tails. Collect Silver Medals in Town Stages and Acts. Light Cores (from Monsters) and Chaos Drives (from Eggman's Robots) replenish your Action Gauge. Use Switches and Telekenesis Markers to open doors or activate laser gates. Reach the Goal Ring at the end of an Act or Town Mission.
- 5Understand Item Boxes: Collect Rings (5, 10, or 20) which also serve as currency. Shields protect from one hit but not from falling into bottomless pits (rarely seen in-game). Gauge Up replenishes the Action Gauge. Invincible grants temporary immunity to Ring-losing attacks. High Speed (super sneakers) increases running speed (rare). 1-up grants an extra life.
- 6Interact with Moveable/Breakable objects: Break Wooden Boxes with Stars to find items or use them with Silver's powers. Metal Boxes are unbreakable. Smash Bomb Boxes to damage nearby enemies. Smash Electric Boxes to stun nearby enemies; Silver can pick up stunned enemies. Avoid Spiky Balls, but Silver can pick them up and throw them. Smash Piles of Rocks to reveal items or use them as weapons with Silver's powers. Break Barriers like wooden doors or ice walls to progress.
Tips
- When climbing with Rouge, reaching the top or turning a corner can sometimes make her fall off the wall, which can be easier than pressing the jump button to dismount.
- Omega's Lock-on Shot requires you to be facing the enemies when you fire, and there is no visual indicator of which enemies are locked on.
- Rings are crucial for survival and can be used as currency in the shop.
- Wooden Boxes can be used by Silver to reach higher areas or extend levitation.
- Silver can pick up and throw Spiky Balls and use Piles of Rocks as weapons.
