- 1In Castle Town, near the entrance to Wave Ocean, accept the mission "Head for the old Soleanna Castle!". Tails will follow you. You can purchase Green Gems for 5000 Rings, Red Gems for 5000 Rings, or Blue Gems for 7000 Rings from the shop.
- 2The castle is in the Forest Town Area, but the main gate is closed. A nearby NPC (non-player character — anyone the game controls, not you) will direct you to the Bishop, located by a bell tower. From Wave Ocean, head towards the shop, then continue straight until you reach the bell tower. The Bishop will have an Orange Exclamation Point above his head.
- 3After speaking with the Bishop, you will be in the Forest Town Area. Proceed straight ahead and complete the three Town Missions to unlock Kingdom Valley. Remember to pause the game and choose Save after each mission.
TOWN MISSION # 18: Test of Intelligence
Difficulty: Easy if you know which portals to go through.
What to do: Remember the correct order of portals.
- 1: Take the middle portal.
- 2: Middle portal again.
- 3: Highest portal.
- 4: Portal closest to you.
Then, hit the spring and jump off the walls to reach the goal.
S-rank: Very quickly choose the correct portals. Ensure you hit the spring at the end.
TOWN MISSION # 19: Test of Courage
Difficulty: Medium-hard.
What to do: Kill all enemies without Rings. Move quickly to make it harder for enemies to aim. Keep an eye on your radar (a small map displayed on the HUD (heads-up display — the on-screen icons showing health, ammo and the minimap), showing enemy locations) for new enemies and their exact locations.
- There is a group of enemies on top of a tree. Reach them by hitting the spring on the tree's roots near the camo crabs. On the tree's branch, hit the spring to reach the next area after defeating all enemies.
- Quickly defeat the last red laser walker before it hits you.
S-rank: Less than a minute. Focus on not getting hit. A Yellow Gem can offer some protection, and a Red Gem provides a better Time Bonus and slows enemy movements and ammo. Kill camo crabs to safely eliminate surrounding enemies. For the first group of white enemies, killing a background camo crab first yields 1100 points.
TOWN MISSION # 20: Test of Love
Difficulty: Very Easy.
What to do: Go through the portal next to Elise or Amy. After this mission, ride the eagle to the mirror that leads to Kingdom Valley.
S-rank: Choose a portal very quickly.
ACT 8: KINGDOM VALLEY
Act type: Support Character, Super Speed Area.
Support Character: Meet Silver; finish with Sonic.
Mission Name: Follow the Egg Carrier!
Difficulty: Very Hard, especially the Super Speed Area.
Enemy Type: Eggman Robots.
- To grab onto ropes, use the Homing Attack. To move properly on ropes, press left and right. To catch a path of Rings (a line of collectible rings) off a rope, first use left and right to align yourself with the Rings, then press forward. When near the Rings, press Attack. Tapping Attack helps ensure you catch them. Pressing Attack at the wrong time can cause a Bounce Attack straight down.
- Jump down collapsing staircases to reduce the chance of falling through. A small ledge will remain on the side to stand on.
- The Super Speed Area is very difficult. When returning to the pathway from horizontal water areas, avoid steering too much to prevent dying. Do not mistake a wall under the pathway for the pathway itself when re-entering from the water.
- When on the water, stay away from the top or bottom edges to avoid being sucked in and killed.
S-rank: For Normal Mode, killing robots and surviving the Super Speed Area in one go usually results in an S-rank. For Hard Mode, concentrate on hitting Rainbow Hoops and collecting many Rings. In the Super Speed Area, tap the Attack button to grab lines of Rings. Be aware that one line of Rings before a jump might lead to death.
CASTLE TOWN: IN FRONT OF THE GATE TO NEW CITY
Mission Name: Head for Dr. Eggman's Secret Base!
New Items in Shop: White Gem - 8000 Rings, Sky Gem - 10000 Rings, Yellow Gem - 12000 Rings, Purple Gem - 14000 Rings.
Where to go:
- You need to enter Aquatic Base, but first, the door must be opened. Head right across the bridge to find Lord Regis with an orange exclamation point next to a three-star spring. He will instruct you to ring three bells in Soleanna to open the door to Aquatic Base.
- The first bell is reached by using the spring next to Lord Regis to ascend the bell tower. Ring the bell using Homing Attack. The other two bells are easy to find due to the large towers. After ringing the first bell, head right and use the spring to reach a rooftop directly facing the next bell tower. The third bell tower is one you have been near before, located close to the shop.
- With the bells rung, the entrance to Aquatic Base is open. It is located in the large round building, the Temple, off the side of a bridge. Head back in the direction of the second bell from the third bell; it is hard to miss.
ACT 9: AQUATIC BASE
Act type: Support Character.
Support Characters: Tails and Knuckles complete parts of this level; Sonic follows.
- To get on ropes, use the Homing Attack. To move properly on ropes, press left and right. To catch a path of Rings off a rope, first use left and right to line yourself up in front of the path of Rings, then just press forward and when you get near the Rings press Attack.
