How to Fast Travel: Getting Started

To fast travel in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, you need to speak with guides located in major camps. The first guide you'll encounter is Uncle Lyonya in Zalissya, found in the northwestern house. Look for the guide icon, resembling a target, when zoomed in on a hub area map (like Zalissya or Slag Heap). However, simply speaking to one guide isn't enough; you must speak to a second guide before you can travel to their location.

The next guide you'll meet is Bonkers in the Slag Heap of Garbage, typically encountered while progressing the main story quests. Once you have spoken to two guides, you can use their services to fast travel between their locations. This service comes with a fee, with the minimum cost being 1500 K. Due to the size of The Zone, you will likely find yourself using this service frequently as you progress, especially when you start accumulating coupons (K).

Early in the game, you may not have enough cash for frequent fast travel, making walking between the initial zones a common necessity. To earn money early on, consider repairing weapons found from bandits at Lens the Technician in Zalissya and selling them to Hamster for a profit. This is only profitable if the weapon is not too damaged (indicated by a yellow repair icon, not red). Another method for early income is to take on jobs from Warlock, who can be found behind the bar in Zalissya.

To initiate fast travel, speak to a guide and express your interest in traveling. They will ask for your desired destination. Select the location, pay the required fee, and you will be teleported there.

It is generally advisable to complete all available missions within a hub area before moving on to the next. This strategy can save you money in the long run by reducing the need for frequent fast travel.
