    To avoid heavy action with the Military upon arriving at Agroprom, get into the Agroprom Underground as soon as possible.

    The best approach is by the northernmost entrance, which should already be pinged on your minimap (mini-map: a small map usually in the corner of your HUD (Heads-Up Display: shows game information like health, ammo, etc.) showing your immediate surroundings).

    This hatch is found among a few water tanks at the north-west corner of the Duty Factory.

    Creep along the first tunnel and surprise any Bandits.

    Beyond them is a corridor blocked by electro anomalies; find the staircase off to the side. Note the ladder leading upwards, which is another exit.

    Downstairs are fruit punch puddles, and in the room beyond, you will likely meet at least one psy-mutant.

    Make your way to the inner tunnel and look for a bunch of boxes set low against the wall, under an open, circular hole in the wall.

    Jump up to find a ladder and climb it to find Strelok's Hideout.

    Inside, find minor loot, the Worn Notebook (in the jacket stash), the Military Documents (white box on the shelf, sellable to Barkeep), and Strelok's Notebook (blue book on the floor).

    Collecting Strelok's Notebook starts the quest Living Legend: Following the Trail.

    To leave the Agroprom Underground, continue east and find another spiral staircase.

    Take the ladder at the very top to exit; the side tunnel halfway up leads to a scripted encounter with another psy-mutant.
Tips
  • For equipment, consider visiting Butcher in the Garbage for shotguns if your reputation with Free Stalkers is 500.
  • Nomad or Voyager Suits are excellent early-game suits available from Sid and Loris. You can get a Nomad suit for completing Hip's quest in Cordon.
  • Prioritize getting a Headlamp with Nightvision (the first, green version).
  • A Travel Backpack adds 28kg to your weight limit.
  • Upgrade your Echo detector to the Bear detector for improved artefact detection.
  • Before going to Agroprom, farm and grind in the Garbage to reach Trainee rank and level up Free Stalkers traders for better gear. Artefact hunting is lucrative there.

  • If you have bought a shotgun or other primary weapon, consider upgrading it at a technician if you have tools.

  • Agroprom Underground is a good place to farm mid-tier monsters like bloodsuckers, psy-suckers, burers, controllers, or karliks.
