Walkthrough
- 1Travel to Yantar, which can be reached more quickly by cutting through the Wild Territory from the Garbage.
- 2The main hub in Yantar is the Research Facility, located in the southern marshes and occupied by the Ecologists. It serves as a trading post and a potential camp.
- 3You will need to visit Sakharov within the Research Facility for help with the main quest-line, specifically for the Living Legend: Call Of The North part, and to gain access to Lab X-16 or the Brain Scorcher.
- 4Sakharov also offers upgrades for the psy-helmet and can be paid to let you join the Ecologists faction. He is a trader specializing in scientific equipment like Ecologist suits, Artefact Application Modules (AAMs), and the Surge Suppressor. He also buys artefacts.
- 5Outside the Research Facility, you can find Peregrine, the Ecologists' technician, and Spirit, who sells food, water, and other consumables. Spirit also accepts vodka donations; 20 bottles can yield ammo or a Berill 5-M armoured suit.
- 6The Industrial Complex is located to the north and masks the entrance to Laboratory X-16. The area has reduced enemy spawns compared to its previous state.
- 7To access the Industrial Complex from the south, find a fenced area north of the Blackwater swamp. The fence has holes at either end, and a ramp on a cable spool allows you to hop the wall.
- 8Laboratory X-16 is an optional dungeon accessible only with the psy-helmet.
- 9Be aware of various Anomalies in the Yantar region, including Blackwater (radiation, springboards, chemical damage), Bonfire (heavy burn damage), Concrete Dump (vortexes, chemical damage), Edison (electros, radiation), and Tesla (electros).
- 10The Concrete Dump's pipe to the east or a tunnel to the south can be used to hide from emissions.
- 11Yantar connects to the Dead City in the west.
Tips
- You can sleep in the bed in the back room of the Research Facility, even when scientists are present, which is useful while waiting for Sakharov to upgrade the psy-helmet.
- The north edge of Blackwater, under a tree, is where most artefacts spawn. Climb the tree, drop into the water, grab the item, and leave quickly.
- If caught outside during an emission, use the pipe or tunnel near the Concrete Dump for cover (press the cover button to crouch behind walls or objects).
