How to Beat The King

Conquer The King, Steelrising's final boss, by mastering his automaton suit and elemental phases. Learn his heavy melee swings and ground slam patterns.

Location: Tuileries Palace, the King's private chambers.

The King is the final boss of Steelrising, a multi-phase encounter that will test every skill you've acquired. He commands a powerful automaton suit and then fights in a more agile, elemental form.

Phase 1: The King's Automaton Suit

• Attacks:
  • Heavy Melee Swings: Powerful, wide-reaching attacks with his suit's arms.
  • Ground Slam: Creates a large shockwave.
  • Ranged Energy Blast: Fires a projectile from his suit.
  • Summon Drones: Summons small, fast-moving drones that harass Aegis.
• Strategy: Treat this phase like a more aggressive version of The Royal Orpheus. Stay mobile, dodge his heavy attacks, and counter-attack after his combos. Prioritize the drones immediately to avoid being overwhelmed.
• Weakness: Highly vulnerable to Fulmination. Use Fulmination Grenades to stun him, creating openings for heavy damage.

Phase 2: The King's True Form (approx. 50% Health)

• New Attacks:
  • Elemental Attacks: The King sheds his suit, gaining new fire, ice, and lightning attacks (projectiles, AoE zones).
  • Teleportation: He can teleport short distances, often to reposition or initiate an attack.
  • Agile Melee Combos: Faster, more unpredictable melee attacks.
• Strategy: This phase requires quick reflexes. Learn his elemental attack patterns and dodge accordingly. He is more vulnerable to physical damage in this phase, especially Immobilisation damage. Focus on breaking his posture with quick, successive hits.
• Weakness: No specific elemental weakness, but susceptible to Immobilisation. Use fast weapons or modules that boost immobilisation damage.

Phase 3: The Awakened King (approx. 20% Health)

• New Attacks:
  • Enraged State: The King becomes incredibly aggressive, combining all his previous attacks with increased speed and damage.
  • Ultimate Attack: A powerful, arena-wide ultimate attack that requires precise dodging or finding a small safe zone.
• Strategy: This is the most challenging phase. Be patient and prioritize survival. Only attack when you have a clear, safe opening. Use all remaining Alchemical Capsules, module abilities, and any remaining elemental grenades. If he initiates his ultimate attack, focus entirely on dodging or finding the designated safe area. This phase is a true test of your mastery of Aegis's mechanics.

Rewards:

• Anima Essence: A massive amount (~25,000-35,000).
• King's Core: A unique, powerful module that often provides a significant boost to all stats or a unique active ability.
• Ending: Triggers the game's ending cinematic and unlocks New Game+.

General Tips: Ensure all your equipment is fully upgraded. Stock up on all types of elemental grenades and Alchemical Capsules. Consider a balanced build for this fight, or one that excels at both physical and elemental damage. Don't get discouraged; persistence and learning his patterns are key.
