Part 19 of the game sets you up against horrible swinging hazards, similar to Areas 2 and 3, but significantly more dangerous. As a harbor city, it's filled with water, which spells doom for any missteps. The first section involves a long and complicated swinging challenge where a single mistake sends you to your death. The second part requires climbing a tall, intricate tower while dodging an endless rain of spike balls that cannot be bounced off or eliminated. It's highly recommended to stock up on continues and lives before attempting this part.
- 1First, you need the rocket launcher to destroy the wall at the beginning of the stage. If you don't have it, you must leave and return later.
- 2After destroying the wall, proceed to the light bulbs over the holes. Spike balls will emerge, so be cautious as they can damage you and even remove your arm.
- 3An extra life is located on the platform above. To reach it, swing over the first hole using a bulb, then shoot your arm upwards to grab the high platform. Drop down and cross the next hole similarly. You can also grab the next high platform to reach the green building.
- 4If you miss the upper path or choose the lower route, continue right, but beware of the next hole where a small guard robot patrols. Defeat it and cross the hole.
- 5Bounce on the springboard and shoot your arm to the platform above to reach the green building.
- 6Ascend two platforms and move right. Go over the box and continue right.
- 7You will encounter a soldier commanding small choppers. Shoot him from the lower platform and proceed right.
- 8Use your arm to swing to the blue platform. Move right and confront another chopper guard. Climb to his platform and defeat him. Use the bulb to swing right.
- 9The first difficult swinging section begins. Swing over the water gap using the bulbs. Use the higher bulbs to swing and the lower bulbs to stand on. Be aware that the bulbs are very slippery and you can only stand on them for less than a second.
- 10Swing right via the first high bulb, and upon landing on the low bulb, quickly shoot your arm to the next high bulb. Repeat this process until you land on a small island with a door. This door leads to the next section, not a contact room; there are no such rooms in this level.
- 11Another challenging swinging part follows. Swing right via the bulb, then immediately shoot your arm upwards to grab the platform.
- 12Reach the high platform and observe the platform above with boxes. For the safest swing, connect your arm to the very right edge of the high platform. This will allow you to land with good balance on the low bulb when swinging right. This provides more time to shoot your arm to the high bulb and swing.
- 13When swinging right again, be ready to shoot your arm to the green platform you see. You must catch it to avoid falling. Ascend to this platform and then to the top one.
- 14The second part, the tower climb, begins. Ascend in a zig-zag pattern: move right until you can't go further, move up one step, then move left, and so on. Spike balls will roll on the floor; avoid them.
- 15Move right until you are next to a box. Swing right and, in mid-air, grab the ceiling to avoid a spike ball rolling beneath you. Be careful not to grab the ceiling over a hole, as it will make landing safely difficult.
- 16Continue right and ascend to the platform. Get onto the green spot, not the springboard. When clear, use the springboard to reach the next floor.
- 17Move left and climb the ceiling if spike balls approach. When a springboard appears above, climb onto it and hold right to bounce correctly. Watch out for spike balls.
- 18In this corridor, the blue roof prevents you from hanging on the ceiling to let balls pass. Use the floor springboards to jump over the balls.
- 19Proceed all the way right and hang onto the green spot next to a springboard. When safe, ascend and bounce left.
- 20This corridor also has a blue roof. Find a gap in the stream of spike balls and sneak into a small spot with a normal roof to avoid being hit.
- 21Move left through the corridor and shoot the large enemy tossing spike balls as soon as you see him. This will stop balls from appearing on your floor, though some will still drop from above.
- 22When no balls are falling on you, use your arm diagonally left onto the green piece next to the springboard. Do NOT let your arm touch the springboard, as this will cause you to bounce away and fall to the beginning.
- 23Climb onto the green platform, carefully avoiding the springboard, and swing up to the floor on the right.
- 24Cross the corridor and use the springboards to jump over spike balls. At the end, climb onto the small green part of the platform and use the left springboard to bounce onto the tower's roof.
- 25A small building houses the boss room, with a large enemy tossing spike balls on top. Jump with the first springboard and climb onto the enemy's platform during the jump. Quickly defeat him to eliminate the spike balls. Drop down and enter the boss room.
BOSS FIGHT: Bionic Arm Cyborg
This boss wields a bionic arm similar to yours. He will throw it at you; if it hits, you'll be pulled into his body and take damage. He remains on his platform, so if you stay on the floor, you cannot be hit.
