Get the Master Sword and defeat Yuga in The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. Learn about item upgrades and Hyrule Castle.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Purchase and upgrade equipment. Available upgrades and their costs are: Ice Rod (1200 Rupees, creates 4 Ice Shards), Hookshot (800 Rupees, faster shot, deals damage), Tornado Rod (800 Rupees, wider diameter), Bombs (800 Rupees, larger range and damage), Bow (800 Rupees, fires 3 arrows), Hammer (800 Rupees, double range and damage), Boomerang (800 Rupees, fires 3 shots, better range), and Fire Rod (1200 Rupees, longer attack and damage).
  2. 2
Fly to Kakariko Village and enter the Lost Woods through the upper left entrance.
  3. 3
Proceed to the northwest corner of the Lost Woods.
  4. 4
Follow the Poe that speaks to you.
  5. 5
In the next area, take the path that neither of the two bouncing Poes follows.
  6. 6
In the third area with three bouncing Poes, do not follow any of them.
  7. 7
Approach the Master Sword's Pedestal and take out the Master Sword.
  8. 8
After Sahasrahla speaks to you, fly to Link's House and head north to Hyrule Castle.
  9. 9
Strike the barrier at Hyrule Castle to remove it. Sahasrahla will save your game (checkpoint (an auto-save point you restart from on death)).
  10. 10
Enter the left door in the castle's front yard and open the chest to find a Blue Rupee.
  11. 11
Go through the central main gates.
  12. 12
On the second floor, go left or right and then south to exit outside.
  13. 13
    Enter the middle double doors.
  14. 14
Defeat the Ball and Chain Soldier in the next room by waiting for the chain to be out of range before attacking, or by stunning it with your Boomerang or Hookshot.
  15. 15
    Proceed to the 3rd floor.
  16. 16
In the first room, kill all enemies. Merge with the wall to get the soldier on the right.
  17. 17
In the second room, defeat all 8 Armos, which is easier with the Master Sword.
  18. 18
Follow the path to the 4th floor and witness a cutscene (a non-interactive cinematic the game plays automatically) with Yuga and Zelda.
  19. 19
Kill the soldiers and proceed to the 5th floor.
  20. 20
Follow the straightforward path to the 6th floor.
  21. 21
Continue to the 7th floor, killing all enemies.
  22. 22
Go up to the 8th floor to trigger a cutscene with Yuga.
  23. 23
    Boss Battle: Yuga II
    • Yuga splits into 3 and rotates around the walls. Only one is real, indicated by a lightened scepter. Stay on the lower part of the room and attack whichever appears. If it's a fake, a soldier will emerge; defeat it.
  24. 24
After two hits, Yuga attacks with fire, alternating with lightning. After three more hits, the battle is won.
  25. 25
After the fight, follow Yuga to a dead end.
  26. 26
Rip the Hyrule banner from the north wall to reveal a crack.
  27. 27
Merge with the wall and go through it to enter an unknown world.
Tips
  • Upgraded items can be purchased after collecting enough Maiamai.
  • The Master Sword shoots beams of light at full health.
  • Stun Ball and Chain Soldiers with your Boomerang or Hookshot before attacking.
  • The Master Sword makes fighting Armos significantly easier.
  • Merge with walls to bypass certain enemies or reach new areas.
