Master Mordor's infinite horde strategy in The Lord of the Rings Online. Learn to overwhelm opponents with Orc Pits and guerrilla tactics. Includes tips from Chaos Marine and others.
Walkthrough
- 1Mordor's Infinite Spawn: Utilize the Orc Pits' ability to create an infinite number of troops. This allows you to engage in a war of attrition, forcing opponents to sacrifice upgrades and ancillary buildings to counter your endless hordes.
- 2Strategic Map Control: Instead of head-on assaults, use the stalemate created by infinite spawns to your advantage. Sweep across the map and isolate your opponent's forces.
- 3Guerrilla Warfare Mentality: Adopt a guerrilla warfare approach. Focus on winning through overwhelming numbers and attrition, rather than the survival of individual soldiers.
Tips from Contributors
- Chaos Marine's Evil Side Tips: Start by building 2-3 Iron Forges, then an Uruk Pit. Produce Uruk Horde soldiers. Expand to camps and build Lumber Mills. At outposts, build an Armory and either a Siege or Warg Pit. Get a hero when affordable. Against Gondor or Rohan with walls, upgrade the Siege Workshop to rank 2 and build Mines. Mines are highly effective against walls and buildings, but require Berserkers to detonate.
- I Vegeta's Isengard Mission (Good Side) Strategy: For the Isengard mission, take all Ents and Hobbits north, luring the Orcs. Destroy the far northern wall, enter, and focus on the dam. This can complete the mission within 5 minutes, potentially without losing Ents. Saruman will appear once inside; you can choose to attack him. The dam only needs to be damaged to 50% health, not destroyed. Ensure Treebeard survives.
- Raykersw's Gondor Battalion: Gondor Knights can be combined with Foot Soldiers or Tower Guards. Footmen take the front with Knights behind; they charge together, forming a unified line. This formation is still being evaluated for advantages.
- Huu Tran's Merged Units: Gondor Knights merged with Gondor Soldiers slow down the Knights significantly, making it a poor combination.
