01. Cheaper house: Build a house with a single Sim, then evict them. A new family can buy the partially built house at a lower cost.

02. "Let the carpool wait" trick: The carpool gives you a full hour before leaving, so don't rush when it arrives.

03. "Wake up, sleepyhead" trick: To prevent a Sim from sleeping past full energy, queue another action (like "Take a bath") so they wake up as soon as their energy is maxed.

04. Orders queue trick: To queue multiple identical actions (like "Nap") that normally aren't allowed consecutively, insert other actions (like "Sit") in between, then delete the inserted actions.

05. Pick and drop and pick again: Cancel the action of placing an item (like a bill) to drop it on the ground. This can be useful for paying bills near the mailbox. Similarly, canceling the act of moving trash can result in dropping it on the floor, allowing you to re-trash it into a previously full bin.

06. Playing your music: Place MP3, MP3 shortcut, or .M3U files into one of The Sims' "Station" folders (e.g., "C:\Program Files\Maxis\The Sims\Music\Stations") to play them on your stereo.

07. Multiple neighborhoods trick: (For original Sims, not Livin' Large) Copy the "UserData" folder, rename the copy (e.g., to "n1"), and then rename "UserData" to something else (e.g., "n0"). Rename your desired neighborhood folder (e.g., "n1") to "UserData" to play it. Reverse the process to return to your original neighborhood.

08. Death: Sims can die in several ways: by swimming in a pool with no ladder, by being trapped in a walled room until they starve, by catching fire, or by electrocution from a broken lamp near water.

09. Borrow the objects: Buying an object and selling it back the same day refunds the full purchase price, allowing you to use items temporarily for free.
