Complete Part 8 of Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas, including Prime Time and rescuing Dr. Smythe. Learn strategies for intense firefights and hostage rescues.
Walkthrough
- 1Clear enemies downstairs, utilizing crossfire and grenades. You can use the office window for a vantage point, though it offers little cover (press the cover button to crouch behind walls or objects) (protection from enemy fire).
- 2Proceed downstairs to the objective double doors. Clear the small office to the right, using two entry points.
- 3Move through the next two doors into a hallway ending in double doors. Snake (move slowly and carefully) and tag (mark enemies on the minimap (the small circular map in the bottom-left corner of your screen) (a small map showing your immediate surroundings)) the two patrolling tangos (enemies). Stack your team and order explosives, or wait for them to pass the door to enter unseen.
- 4Proceed through the halls and up the stairs to another set of double doors.
- 5Prime Time: A new objective is to save hostages from being executed on TV.
- 6An equipment crate is in this room. Recommended loadout: shield and Desert Eagle, or a shotgun or SMG. A sniper rifle or assault rifle with a scope is also useful. Smoke grenades are helpful, but you cannot throw them with a shield equipped.
- 7Stack your team on the doors. Snake and tag the enemy at the end of the room and any others behind the counter. Switch to infiltrate mode and order smoke and clear.
- 8Move in with the smoke and rush the enemies behind the counter, who are armed with shotguns. You can throw frags (fragmentation grenades) over the counter if you prefer to play it safe.
- 9WARNING: EXTREMELY (possibly) FRUSTRATING FIREFIGHT
- 10You must climb multiple flights of stairs to the top, fighting through enemies and MG turrets on every floor. There is very little cover and few rooms to hide in.
- 11Start at the bottom of the staircase. Moving toward the fountain triggers about 4 enemies who fast rope down; eliminate them before they land or as they dismount. Watch for the first MG turret above the aquarium; take it down before advancing.
- 12From this point, the situation becomes difficult. A shield will make it easier; otherwise, move from cover to cover, checking for flankers (enemies attacking from the side or rear).
- 13Each floor has a staircase on one side and escalators on the other; one will be broken, requiring you to switch between them to ascend. Expect 2-3 dozen enemies attacking from your floor, the floor above, or both. The second MG turret is on the 4th floor.
- 14At the top, you'll find another equipment crate. Equip anything you want, but avoid shotguns as you will fight near hostages in the next room. An SMG is preferred.
- 15You have less than a minute to prepare and clear the next room before enemies start shooting hostages. Inside are 3 tangos and 4 hostages near each other on a stage. Two tangos are on the stage, and one is on the ground.
- 16You should have enough time to snake and tag two enemies. Switch to infiltrate mode, stack your team on the first door, then move to the other. Order flash and clear.
- 17As you open the door, quickly take out the first tango. Head down the stage and watch the glass double doors on the far end. 3 more tangos will spawn; eliminate them as they appear. The hostages will run off on their own; you do not need to escort them.
- 18OBJECTIVE UPDATED: Rescue VIP: Dr. Smythe
- 19You can return to the equipment box before proceeding.
- 20Dr. Smythe: Sneak down the hall and equip suppressors.
- 21Eliminate the patrolling enemy on the right. Move left and snipe the enemy at the far end.
- 22From the railings, you may see enemies on the bottom floor; snipe them if possible. Otherwise, move around the right side.
- 23In the middle of the right side is a door to a small room; eliminate the two enemies inside if they haven't already come out.
- 24Exit the room and continue towards the stairs. Enemies may fast rope down from the roof; take them out now. If they don't, they will appear later as you descend into the main slot machine room.
- 25The stairs at the end are the only way down. If it seems safe, descend and take cover by the slot machines or pillars. If it is still heavily occupied by enemies, head up the stairs on the other side to try and flank.
Tips
- Utilize the office window for a good vantage point, but be aware it offers minimal cover.
- When facing the shotgun-wielding enemies behind the counter, consider using grenades for a safer approach.
- The shield is highly recommended for the multi-floor ascent due to the limited cover and high enemy density.
- Always double-check for flankers when moving between cover points.
- Equip suppressors when sneaking down the hall to reach Dr. Smythe.
