Valkyrie

Attacks (sword): Bolt Slash (1 hit, 25 energy, x1 damage multiplier), Moment Slide (1 hit, 15 energy, x1 damage multiplier), Vertical Raid (2 hits, 24 energy, x.5 damage multiplier per hit). PWS (Power Weapon Skill): Nibelung Valesti (variable hits, variable energy, 4 CT - Combo Time).

Attacks (bow): Spread Shot (2 hits, 20 energy, x1 damage multiplier), Tri-Blast (3 hits, 9 energy, x2 damage multiplier), Infinity Blast (4 hits, 24 energy, x.5 damage multiplier per hit). PWS: Nibelung Valesti (variable hits, variable energy, 4 CT).

Damage multipliers for Nibelung Valesti: NV1Sword: 4 (eight hits of 0.5), NV2Sword: 6 (0.5x8 + 2), NV3Sword: 11 (0.5x8 + 2 + 5). NV1Bow: 6 (0.5x12), NV2Bow: 8 (0.5x12 + 2), NV3Bow: 13 (0.5x12 + 2 + 5).

Valkyrie is essential in most battles and is a strong character. Her sword attacks can hit all enemy types, including hamsters. Equipping her with a bow is even better, making her the strongest bow user in Valkyrie Elysium. Her PWS has three power levels depending on the equipped weapon, with the third level only available in the final battle of Asgard Hill and in the Seraphic Gate.

Freya

Attacks: Critical Flare (6 hits, 24 energy, x.5 damage multiplier per hit), Aerial Blast (3 hits, 21 energy, x.25 damage multiplier per hit), Thunder Sword (5 hits, 50 energy, x.25 damage multiplier per hit). PWS: Ether Strike (1 hit, 10 energy, 5 CT, x15 damage multiplier).

Optimum PWS position: fourth.

Freya's stats indicate her power. She accompanies you in the Artolian Mountain Ruins to prevent losses. In the Seraphic Gate, she can be your most powerful fighter, with her PWS dealing the most damage. Her main drawback is the long delay between attacks, making combos difficult. Her third attack is unblockable, except when fighting against her.

Freya's PWS is Poison elemental and deals double damage to enemies weak against Poison, potentially reaching over 1,000,000 damage. Other characters' PWS are not elemental.

Arngrim

Modes available: all (Chapter 0).

Starting stats (level 1) DME: 2000 Str: 30 Int: 5 Agl: 10 Dex: 3.

Attacks: Spinning Back-Knuckle (1 hit, 15 energy, x1 damage multiplier), High Wind (1 hit, 30 energy, x1 damage multiplier), Wrenching Swing (1 hit, 25 energy, x1 damage multiplier). PWS: Final Blast (8 hits, 80 energy, 6 CT, x.75 damage multiplier per hit).

Optimum PWS position: third.

Arngrim is a strong early-game character. His PWS deals good damage and adds significant energy, but has a long charge time. His normal attacks hit high, making him miss short enemies but effective against flying creatures. He is a good, though not exceptional, character.

Jelanda

"Valkyrie, do you even need our help?"

Modes available: all (Chapter 0).

Starting stats (level 1) DME: 300 Str: 2 Int: 15 Agl: 20 Dex: 3.

Jelanda is the first mage available and is useful in early chapters. Her Fire Storm spell is weak but adds significant energy to the combo gauge, which is crucial for reaching 100 before acquiring better weapons. She also has the Heal spell.

Lawfer

"I pledge my strength to the Lady Valkyrie!"

Modes available: Normal and Hard (Chapter 2).

Starting stats (level 1) DME: 1500 Str: 10 Int: 6 Agl: 10 Dex: 5.

Lawfer is considered the best character outside the Seraphic Gate. His normal attacks are good, and his PWS deals high damage but adds little energy, so it should be used last in a combo. With a Combo Jewel or Energy Ring, he can fill the energy gauge alone. He is also a good candidate for transfer.

Attacks: Smash Axe (1 hit, 24 energy, x1 damage multiplier), Prisoner Fang (1 hit, 30 energy, x1 damage multiplier), Triple Thrust (3 hits, 30 energy, x1 damage multiplier). PWS: Justice Stream (10 hits, 25 energy, 2 CT, x.8787 damage multiplier per hit).

Optimum PWS position: fourth.

Belenus

"Reap the judgement of the gods."

Modes available: all (Chapter 1).

Starting stats (level 1) DME: 1500 Str: 10 Int: 6 Agl: 10 Dex: 5.

Attacks: First Slash (1 hit, 15 energy, x1 damage multiplier), Rising Slash (2 hits, 24 energy, x.5 damage multiplier per hit), Piercing Crusade (2 hits, 20 energy, x.5 damage multiplier per hit). PWS: Extreme Void (2 hits, 30 energy, 3 CT, x3.75 damage multiplier per hit).

Optimum PWS position: fourth.

Belenus is often transferred due to his high Hero Value but is also a good party member. His PWS deals very strong damage, among the highest in the game. His normal attacks are similar to Valkyrie's sword attacks.

Llewelyn

Modes available: all (Chapter 1).

Starting stats (level 1) DME: 700 Str: 10 Int: 6 Agl: 10 Dex: 5.

Attacks: First Shot (1 hit, 5 energy, x1 damage multiplier), Twin Shot (2 hits, 10 energy, x.5 damage multiplier per hit), Aiming Wisp (2-3 hits, 10 energy, x.29834 damage multiplier per hit). PWS: Layer Storm (variable hits, 5 energy per hit, 2 CT, x.6738 damage multiplier per hit).

Optimum PWS position: first.

Llewelyn is considered weak, with his only notable asset being his PWS, which hits a variable number of times based on enemy size and positioning. Seven hits is a common outcome.
