Currencies

There are several distinct currencies you'll encounter, each serving a specific purpose in the Red Moon Inn and beyond.

• Sovereign Scraps: This is your primary currency for purchasing items from Lohner's Emporium of Wonders. These items include cosmetics (hats, outfits, weapon illusions), frames, and even some unique weapon skins.
  • Acquisition:
    • Daily/Weekly Challenges: Completing the rotating challenges found on the mission board in the Red Moon Inn is the most consistent source. These often involve specific map completions, enemy kills, or hero-specific tasks.
    • Commendation Chests: Opening these chests, earned by leveling up your heroes, frequently grants a small amount of Sovereign Scraps.
    • Vanguard Chests: These are rarer chests awarded for completing certain Deeds or specific event challenges. They offer a more substantial amount.
    • Login Rewards: Occasionally, logging into the game will grant a small bonus of Scraps.
  • Strategy: Prioritize completing Daily and Weekly Challenges, especially those that align with your preferred hero and difficulty. Don't hoard Commendation Chests; open them as you get them for a steady trickle of Scraps.
• Shillings: The common currency used for crafting, rerolling properties, and upgrading items at the Forge.
  • Acquisition:
    • Mission Completion: Every successful mission completion, regardless of difficulty, awards a base amount of Shillings. Higher difficulties yield more.
    • Item Salvage: Salvaging unwanted weapons, trinkets, necklaces, and charms at the Forge is a primary source. The rarity of the item dictates the amount of Shillings received. Salvaging a common (white) item yields very little, while an exotic (orange) item provides a significant boost.
    • Chests: All types of chests (Soldier's, General's, Emperor's, Commendation, etc.) can contain Shillings. Higher quality chests generally contain more.
    • Deeds: Completing Deeds, especially on higher difficulties, can award a large sum of Shillings.
  • Strategy: Salvage all unwanted gear, especially lower rarity items you've outgrown. Don't be afraid to run lower difficulty missions if you're in dire need of Shillings for a specific crafting endeavor.
• Dust (Crafting Dust): Essential for crafting and upgrading items. There are four types, corresponding to item rarities:
  • Common Dust (White): Used for crafting common items and upgrading common to uncommon.
  • Uncommon Dust (Green): Used for crafting uncommon items and upgrading uncommon to rare.
  • Rare Dust (Blue): Used for crafting rare items and upgrading rare to exotic.
  • Exotic Dust (Orange): Used for crafting exotic items and upgrading exotic to veteran.
  • Acquisition:
    • Item Salvage: This is the *only* way to acquire crafting dust. Salvaging an item will yield dust of the same rarity. For example, salvaging a Rare (blue) weapon will give you Rare Dust.
  • Strategy: Be mindful of what you salvage. If you're aiming to craft a specific exotic weapon, you'll need a good supply of Exotic Dust, meaning you'll have to salvage other exotic items. It's often beneficial to salvage duplicate exotic items or those with undesirable properties.
• Veteran Dust (Red): A very rare and highly sought-after resource used exclusively for crafting Veteran (red) items.
  • Acquisition:
    • Item Salvage: The *only* way to obtain Veteran Dust is by salvaging a Veteran (red) item.
  • Strategy: Veteran items are rare drops from Emperor's Vaults (Legend difficulty) and some Deeds. Only salvage Veteran items if you have a duplicate or if the item's properties are truly unusable and you need the dust for a specific craft. This is a long-term resource.

Resources & Consumables (In-Mission)

These are items you find and use during a mission to aid your survival.

• Healing Draught: A single-use potion that instantly restores a significant portion of your health.
  • Location: Found randomly throughout missions, often in crates, barrels, or on shelves. Common in areas with high enemy density or before boss encounters.
  • Strategy: Use strategically. It's best to use a Healing Draught when your health is critically low or to prevent a down. Avoid using it if a teammate has a Medical Supplies kit ready to go.
• Medical Supplies: A single-use kit that can heal yourself or a teammate. It takes longer to use than a Healing Draught but restores more health and removes any temporary wounds.
  • Location: Similar to Healing Draughts, found randomly in missions.
  • Strategy: Prioritize using Medical Supplies on teammates who are down or have multiple temporary wounds. It's a team-oriented healing item. Consider carrying one if your hero has talents that benefit from healing others.
• Ammunition Pouch: Instantly refills a portion of your ranged weapon's ammunition.
  • Location: Found randomly, often near ranged weapon pick-ups or in areas where ranged combat is expected.
  • Strategy: Pick up only when needed, or if you're running low. Communicate with your team if you see one and another player needs it more.
• Bombs (Grenades): Explosive projectiles that deal area-of-effect damage. Types include Frag Grenades, Fire Bombs, and Incendiary Bombs.
  • Location: Found randomly throughout missions.
  • Strategy: Excellent for clearing hordes, interrupting patrols, or dealing burst damage to armored enemies or bosses. Save them for critical situations.
• Potions (Elixirs): Single-use buffs that provide temporary enhancements. Types include Strength Potion (increased melee damage), Speed Potion (increased attack speed and movement speed), and Concentration Potion (rapid career skill cooldown).
  • Location: Found randomly throughout missions.
  • Strategy: Use these strategically during boss fights, against patrols, or to quickly clear a dense horde. Communicate with your team to coordinate potion usage, especially for Strength and Concentration potions during boss encounters.

Loot & Rewards (End of Mission)

After successfully completing a mission, you'll be rewarded with chests and sometimes specific items.

• Chests & Vaults: These are your primary source of new gear. The quality of the chest depends on the difficulty completed and whether you found all Tomes and Grimoires.
  • Soldier's Chest: Recruit difficulty, no books.
  • General's Chest: Veteran difficulty, no books.
  • Emperor's Chest: Champion difficulty, no books.
  • Soldier's Vault: Recruit difficulty, all books.
  • General's Vault: Veteran difficulty, all books.
  • Emperor's Vault: Champion difficulty, all books.
  • Legendary Vault: Legend difficulty, no books.
  • Emperor's Vault (Legend): Legend difficulty, all books. (Highest chance for Veteran items)

  Strategy: Always aim to collect all Tomes and Grimoires to maximize your chest quality. Playing on higher difficulties significantly increases your chances of obtaining higher rarity gear, including the coveted Veteran (red) items.

• Commendation Chests: Awarded each time a hero levels up. Contains a random assortment of gear, Shillings, and Sovereign Scraps.
  • Strategy: Open these as you get them. They provide a steady stream of resources and can occasionally yield useful gear.
• Deed Chests: Awarded for completing a Deed. These often contain higher quality gear and more Shillings than standard mission chests.
  • Strategy: Deeds offer a challenging but rewarding experience. Tackle them with a coordinated team for the best chance at success and superior loot.
