These are basically your ultimate trump cards in battle, mythical creatures packed with awesome powers that can really turn the tide when you're facing tough enemies or bosses. Once summoned, they unleash their unique abilities, either blasting your foes or giving you some much-needed buffs to keep you alive.

The first Divine Beast you'll get is Qilin. Its special move, Qilin's Earthquake, summons stone pillars in front of you, and the more powerful it gets, the higher your Morale Rank goes (especially above 10!).

How to Summon Divine Beasts:

So, you're probably wondering how to actually call these bad boys into action. The key thing to know is that you need to defeat Zhuyan first. He's the boss you'll run into during Mission 2, 'Two Chivalrous Heroes Flag,' so you won't have to wait too long into the game to unlock this ability. Once Zhuyan is down, you'll unlock the power to summon Divine Beasts and get your hands on Qilin.

Qilin is automatically equipped when you get it, but if you want to swap to a different Divine Beast later on, you'll need to do that at a Battle Flag. Just head into the 'Battle Preparation' section of the menu – you can change them anytime, so don't stress about picking the 'perfect' one right away.

To actually perform the summon, you first need to fill up the Divine Beast Gauge. You'll see this as a faint outline of your chosen beast on the right side of your screen. Once that meter is completely full, it's time to unleash the beast! On Xbox, you'll press the Y and B buttons together. On PlayStation, it's Triangle and Circle.
