Alright, so you're looking to get into weapon customization in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, specifically the Embedment feature. It's a pretty neat way to tailor your gear to your playstyle, but you can't just jump into it from the get-go. You'll need to push through a bit of the main story first.

When do you unlock Embedment?

You'll gain access to Embedment after you've completed the main story mission called “The Demon Fort of the Yellow Heaven.” This mission unlocks the Hidden Village, which is basically your main hub for everything in the game. Think of it as your home base where you can upgrade your gear, respec your stats, and take on side quests. If you're just sticking to the main path and not getting sidetracked, you should reach this point within about 2 to 3 hours of playtime. Once you arrive at the Hidden Village, make your way to the merchant, Zhu Xia. You'll find her down the path to the right of the Battle Flag.

How do you use Embedment?

Once you chat with Zhu Xia, you'll see a few options: Upgrade, Embedment, Decorate, Salvage, Sell, and Buy. Obviously, you want to select 'Embedment.' From there, pick the weapon you want to customize and then choose one of the available slots. Keep in mind that each weapon or piece of gear can have up to 5 slots, and this is determined by its star rating. Now, here's the catch: installing a Special Effect requires Jewel Fragments. Don't worry, though; you can get these by using the 'Salvage' option to dismantle any old equipment you don't need anymore. It's a great way to get some use out of those spare items!

After you select your weapon and an empty slot, you'll see a whole bunch of special effects to choose from. This is where you can really start fine-tuning your build. Think about how you like to play. For instance, if you're all about using your Divine Spirit as much as possible, look for special effects that boost Spirit regeneration or reduce its cost.
