Companions in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty start at Oath Level 1 and can be leveled up to Oath Level 10. Reaching Oath Level 5 makes them stronger, increasing their damage output and survivability. At Oath Level 10, you unlock their unique armor and weapon for your own use, making leveling them a crucial objective.

While companions gain experience from defeating enemies and bosses, this process is slow. If you wish to level different allies, you must restart from Oath Level 1. Fortunately, the item known as Cup of Cordiality can drastically increase their level, sometimes by two levels per cup.

To level companions:

Select Reinforcements in the Battle Flag Menu.
Use a Cup of Cordiality on the desired ally.

How to Get Cup of Cordiality

Cups of Cordiality are rare drops from various sources in the game, including enemy loot, treasure chests, and map shinies. A reliable method to obtain them is by earning Titles through completing specific challenges.

Once you reach a higher level (around 62), you can repeatedly play the sub-battlefield mission “The Uninhibited Heart.” In this mission, a Cup of Cordiality can consistently be found near the objective NPC, Xun Yu, who may appear in one of three locations. Continue replaying this mission until all companions reach Oath Level 10.

How to Use Cup of Cordiality

To use a Cup of Cordiality, approach the nearest Battle Flag, select Reinforcements, and then press the indicated button ( / ) on the ally you wish to level up. Confirm the prompt to rapidly increase their level.

After maxing out a companion's Oath Level, their equipment will become available in the Deliveries menu.

How to Get Ally Equipment

Once a companion's Oath Level is maxed, you fulfill the requirement to obtain their gear. To find this equipment, navigate to the Deliveries option at the bottom of the Battle Flag menu. After obtaining the gear, it will be located in the character menu's equipment section, alongside your other items.
