Kamurocho, Tokyo

Discover Kamurocho, Tokyo, the vibrant heart of the Yakuza series. This guide details its streets, restaurants, shops, and entertainment venues in Yakuza 0.

Based on the famed Kabukicho red light district in Tokyo, Kamurocho is considered the focal point of the Yakuza series. Every Yakuza game that's not set in another time period features Kamurocho either entirely or for its majority. It is the larger of the two districts and boasts a lot of entertainment and restaurants. Describing Kamurocho is difficult, as it's a ton of interconnecting streets and alleys, but here's the main deal: Showa St. is the southernmost west-east street. From west to east, four streets shoot northward from it. Tenkaichi St. on the far west (with its trademark red gate), then the wide Nakamachi St., then Pink St. (with its distinctive leggy signage), then Senryo Ave. on the far east. About halfway up each is when you start seeing Tenakichi Alley, Nakamichi Alley, and Pink Alley in between the four main streets, then all four hit Taihei Blvd., which runs west to east about a third of the way up the map. There are large blocks between Taihei Blvd. and Shichifuku St. another third of the way up the map. From west to east, there's the Theater Square area, then the Kamurocho Shopping Area, which is a twist of small alleys. Further east is Little Asia, an even smaller twist of alleys, then the Champion District on the far east end. Above Shichifuku St. are only two areas of real note: the Hotel District in the midwest to center and Park Blvd. going from the Hotel District to the east, north of which is West Park, the homeless paradise.

Restaurants -

• Akaushimaru Taihei Blvd. - This is a beef bowl chain. This location is southeast of the Shopping Area.
• Akaushimaru Tenkaichi St. - This location of the beef bowl chain is west of the Shopping Area, south of Theater Square.
• Café Alps - This is a café chain that does a lot of Western café type food, with a few Eastern dishes mixed in. It's found on the south part of Nakamichi St., on the west side of the street.
• Earth Angel - This bar is one of the Champion District's many alternative establishments.
• Fuji Soba - This is a soba noodle restaurant on the west side of Nakamichi St., closer to Taihei Blvd.
• Gindaco Highball Sakaba - This is a walk-up food stand where they'll serve you both alcoholic beverages and delicious takoyaki (seriously, takoyaki is amazing). It's found on the corner of Tenkaichi St. and Taihei Blvd.
• Kanrai - This is a restaurant that specializes in Korean barbecue and organ meat. It's found on Shichifuku St. northeast of the Shopping Area.
• Ringer Hut Kamurocho - Located near the east end of Showa St., Ringer Hut serves champon, a noodle dish from Nagasaki.
• Shellac - This is another bar in the Champion District.
• Smile Burger - This fast food burger joint is situated on the east side of Nakamichi St.
• Sushi Gin - This sushi bar is found on the west part of Showa St.
• Tengokuken - This is a ramen restaurant found in Pink Alley.
• Yoronotaki Kamurocho - Located in the southeast part of Nakamichi St., this is an "izakaya", basically a pub. It's a restaurant that serves drinks and light Japanese pub fare.

Shops -

• Shrine - This is an old Shinto shrine that sits at the north end of Nakamichi Alley. Kiryu can use this place to spend CP on upgrades, and he can also visit Bob Utsunomiya 0 here.
• The Dragon & Tiger - In Chapter 5, Kiryu can visit this restaurant that sits in the Kamuro Shopping Area. It serves as the Kamurocho branch of the weapon selling business. While Kiryu cannot do equipment searches like Majima can, he can buy any weapons that Majima has available, and sell and repair as well.

Entertainment -

• Heroine Karaoke Bar - Enjoy some fine potables and some fine music, courtesy of your own vocal cords, at this bar on Pink St., north of Taihei Blvd.
• Mach Bowl - The Kamurocho bowling alley is located on the west end of Theater Square.
• Orchid Palace Mahjong - This is a mahjong parlor found in the southeast part of Nakamichi Alley.
• Pocket Circuit Stadium - A family establishment where one can engage in pocket circuit racing. This will open up at daytime on Chapter 2, and is located on the west end of Shichifuku St.
• Shoten - This is a shogi parlor in the southeast part of town at the end of Senryo Ave.
• Vincent - In this bar, located near the east end of Park Blvd., you can drink, shoot pool, or throw darts. All you could ever want out of an establishment.
• Yoshida Batting Center - The batting center in Kamurocho can be found in the Hotel District at the north part of town.
• Sugita Building - This is Kiryu's base of operations in this game. It's his hideout starting midway through Chapter 5 and it's how he accesses his business: Real Estate Royale.

Story -

• Serena - This is a bar that serves as a story hangout on Tenkaichi St.
• Sugita Building - Becomes available in Chapter 5 and serves as the headquarters for Kiryu's Business.
• West Park - It doesn't open until Chapter 10, but this homeless hangout is where you'll find Gambling games.
