Kazuma Kiryu: Beast Style

Kazuma Kiryu learns the Beast Style in Yakuza 0 not long into Chapter 2, after encountering Miss Tatsu. This is Kiryu's "power" style, focusing on slow, heavy damage dealt over a wide area, while also allowing him to tank and ignore incoming damage. Compared to the Brawler Style, Beast Style features slower movement and attacks, but hits much harder and in a wider range. The Rush Combo is limited to three strikes. Kiryu can automatically pick up and swing weapons by pressing Light Attack near them; weapon attacks are slower but more devastating, especially with large weapons that can decimate groups. The Quickstep is less of a quick dodge and more of an evasive roll. Instead of a normal guard, holding the Guard button activates "Resist Guard," which reduces incoming damage but leaves Kiryu vulnerable from all directions. Beast Style retains some Brawler Style Heat Actions and adds new ones. The Grab button is used for grabs, and Knock Away and Throw moves cause more collateral damage. Kiryu can also grab downed enemies in this style.
